It is here that his passion was sparked for hunting sea-life. Even though he was hundreds of miles from the salt water, his life-long dream was to become a Fishing Guide in Key West; a dream that has come to fruition. Fishing the flats is one of Captain Alex's strong suits because he brings the hunting and the fishing background together to get the fish in the boat and have a great time doing so. We had an excellent time with Alex! He knew exactly where to find the fish, coached us on the finer points of reeling them in, and even had a couple of fantastic restaurant recommendations for the rest of our stay in Key West! We will 100% be booking a charter (or two!) with Alex the next time we are in town!

Alex and mate Brooks were terrific!! We were on the fish for the entire trip. Caught tarpon, jack fish, barracuda, grouper and red snapper. I would highly recommend these guys!!

He made sure the likes always had fresh bait, gave tips on how to use the equipment, identified the fish we saw in the water (and some sharks too!) and what we were catching. We had a great trip out with Alex! He took us to various spots to fish and see what was biting. Some permit have been moving in. There's still plenty of tarpon in the early morning and late afternoon. Also been finding some cobias on the wrecks.

Lots of tarpon still around as well as reef species! The mangrove snappers are coming through the backcountry on their way to the reef to spawn.
