Captain Jon has over 15 years of fishing experience in the Port O'Connor/Seadrift area and is a full time fishing guide and resident of Port O'Connor.
Head out with Captain Jon to either wade fish or fish from his 26 Mowdy Cat. This boat is easy to get in and out of, runs in 4 inches of water, and has plenty of room for extra/personal gear, four people (excluding the guide), and coolers. For wading trips, you will leave the ramp, first thing in the morning and target redfish, trout, and black drum. Captain Jon provides wade gear (excluding boots), tackle, and fish cleaning. Live bait costs extra. Feel free to bring your own rods and reels, but he can also provide them upon request. And if you don't want to wade, Captain Jon's boat has a large open area perfect for chasing reds around the boat and fishing up to four people. Capt Jon was great! He agreed to go out, even though it was so windy and cold and made sure we had a fun time, even if we didn’t expect to have much luck given the conditions. We were victorious over the gulls however and got several great fish!
