About Your Trip

Get ready for a bass fishing experience deep in the heart of Texas Hill Country with Captain Ray—a full-time professional fishing guide who's been helping anglers hook up and level up since 2015. Whether you're chasing a personal best or just want a relaxing day reeling in fish with a killer view, this trip offers the perfect blend of action, scenery, and hands-on learning.

You’ll be fishing from Captain Ray’s tournament-ready 21’ Skeeter ZX250, powered
by a Yamaha 250 SHO and outfitted with Lowrance HDS electronics, a Minn Kota trolling motor, and 10’ shallow water anchors for precise positioning. The boat’s built for serious bass fishing and comfortably accommodates up to two guests, making this an ideal outing for solo anglers or a one-on-one trip with a friend or family member.

Captain Ray runs trips on some of Central Texas’ best bass lakes, including Travis, Austin, Lady Bird, Walter E. Long, Bastrop, and Lake LBJ. Each offers a unique vibe and fishing style, and Captain Ray will help guide you to the best option based on what’s biting and when you want to go. Whether you’re after numbers or hunting for a trophy, these waters deliver.

Primary targets include Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, but if you’re lucky, you might also hook into a Guadalupe Bass—the official state fish of Texas and a true Hill Country gem found only in these Central Texas lakes. They’re aggressive, fast, and pound-for-pound one of the most exciting fish to catch on light tackle.

All rods, reels, tackle, and lures are provided, but if you’ve got your own gear you love, you’re welcome to bring it aboard. Drinks are included, and you’re also encouraged to bring your favorite canned or plastic beverages—just please be respectful of the boat (and keep the drinks in your cup, not on the deck!). Trash bags are on board, and Captain Ray runs a clean, dialed-in operation from start to finish.

More than just a guide, Captain Ray is also a patient and skilled coach. If you’re new to bass fishing or just looking to sharpen your game, he’s here to help you improve your cast, refine your retrieve, and better understand what makes these fish tick. You’ll walk away with more than just a cooler full of memories—you’ll leave a better angler.

A 15% tip is standard and always appreciated for great service.

So if you're ready to explore some of Texas' best bass water with a local pro who knows the lakes like the back of his hand, Captain Ray is your guy. Come ready to fish, learn, and have a blast in the heart of Hill Country.

I was born and raised in Arizona and credit my father with my passion for Bass fishing. My father took me fishing every chance we got. The passion I have for fishing today is as strong as it was when my father took me for the very first time. I bought my first bass boat when I was 25 and have fished all over the country. I've learned how to catch fish in just about every type of water body that exists in the US. From Highland Lakes to Lowland Reservoirs to Backwater Sloughs, I've fished it all!
