About Your Trip

Explore the Inshore Bays and Flats of Galveston with Captain Trenton

If you're looking to fish the inshore bays and flats around Texas City and Galveston, Captain Trenton is your go-to local expert. With years of experience on Galveston Bay, he knows exactly where to find fish cruising marsh edges, stacked up on oyster reefs, or tailing across shallow flats.

This trip is all about targeting the bay’s most popular and dependable inshore species—Speckled Trout,
slot Redfish, and Flounder (when in season). Depending on the time of year and conditions, you might also hook into Black Drum, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, or even the occasional Pompano. These waters offer consistent action, and Captain Trenton is always tuned in to where the bite is best.

You'll be fishing from a 25’ Skuta center console—built for shallow water performance and stability. With room for up to six anglers, this vessel is perfectly suited for exploring the diverse terrain of Galveston Bay. Outfitted with GPS, Fishfinder, a live bait well, and twin ice boxes (one for drinks, one for your catch), it's fully geared for a comfortable and productive day on the water.

Tactics include spinning, bottom fishing, and popping corks—ideal for working bay structure and shallow grass flats. Live shrimp is included with every trip, but if you'd rather throw artificial lures, that option is available.

Trips are offered in 4- and 6-hour options, giving you plenty of time to cover productive areas and dial in on the bite. All rods, reels, tackle, and bait are included, and Captain Trenton will clean and bag your catch at the end of the trip.

Before you head out, make sure everyone in your group has a valid Texas fishing license. Bring along non-spray sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and bottled water. Alcohol is welcome in moderation—just no glass bottles or hard liquor.

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just looking for a relaxing day on the water, Captain Trenton offers a laid-back, knowledgeable approach that makes every trip enjoyable. Come experience the best of Galveston Bay’s inshore fishing with a guide who knows it inside and out.

Looking to cast a line in Texas City and Galveston on beautiful Galveston Bay? Your guide for the day is Captain Trenton, giving you access to years of Galveston Bay fishing experience.

The fish in these waters include Speckled Trout, Flounder, Redfish, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Blacktip Shark, Pompano, Alligator Gar, Jack Crevalle, Bull Shark, Bonnethead Shark, and more, depending on conditions.

You'll target your catch by spinning, popping corks and bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in
this area.

You'll be casting lines from a 26 skuta center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is available, but it is good to know we can also throw artificial lures for a discounted price. My pricing includes live bait shrimp.

Before coming aboard, it will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

Don't leave home without sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
