About Your Trip

Join Captain Sam for a spearfishing trip that can be tailored to your experience level and the conditions on the water. After leaving the dock, it's usually about a 15-minute run to the first dive spot, although the exact location may change depending on the season, water conditions, and where fish are being found.

This trip starts at 7:00 AM and is listed as intensely physical, since you'll be spending time swimming and diving in the water. Even so, the trip is open to all skill levels. Whether it's your first time spearfishing or you've done it for years, Captain Sam will adjust the day to fit your experience and comfort level.

Once you arrive at the dive site, you'll enter the water with Captain Sam. He'll help point out fish, communicate with you underwater, and keep an eye on everyone throughout the dive. If conditions call for it, you may move between multiple spots during the day.

You'll be aboard a 26' center console that is federally permitted. The center console layout provides open space around the boat, making it easy to move around with gear and get in and out of the water. Onboard you'll find snorkeling equipment, spearfishing equipment, a fishfinder, outriggers, a fighting chair, and an ice box for storing your catch. Bluetooth music is available as well, so feel free to bring a playlist for the ride.

All gear is included, and live bait is provided when needed. Lunch, water, soft drinks, and fresh fruit are also included. If you have favorite snacks or drinks you'd like to bring along, you're welcome to do that too.

At the end of the trip, fish cleaning is included if you harvest fish.

Captain Sam prides himself on keeping things relaxed and adapting the day to the people onboard. Whether you're looking to learn the basics, improve your skills, or simply spend time in the water chasing fish, he'll work to make the trip fit your goals.

i am a local guy in the area have been living in playa del carmen all my life, been fishing in the are since a was a little kid with the years i learned spear fishing too and i have been a padi scuba instructor during 20 years and a cavern diver in the cenote, in the last 10 years during the winter time i take tourist to see sharks while scuba i feed them so that they can approach to observe them, i love the sea i love what i do and i like to share my knowledge and passion for the ocean with my clients currently im 45 years old but i keep in good shape with the activities i do at work and in my time off:) ill be glad to welcome you in my boat and share the day while having a good adventrue fishing in the caribbean sea

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
