About Your Trip

Set out on a laid-back coastal treasure hunt with Captain Jacob and explore remote beaches, sandbars, and secret shoreline spots known only to the locals. This private shell hunting excursion is perfect for families, beachcombers, or anyone who loves the thrill of discovering nature’s hidden gems—like colorful seashells, fossilized shark teeth, and other coastal curiosities.

With room for up to 6 guests, you’ll cruise in comfort aboard Captain Jacob’s 22’ Tidewater Carolina Bay, a smooth-riding
vessel equipped with forward and rear seating, a shady T-top, and all the safety gear you need. As you island-hop through the crystal-clear waters around Topsail Island, Lea Island, and Wrightsville Beach, Captain Jacob will guide you to the best spots for shelling—places that are only accessible by boat and far from the crowded beaches.

Along the way, keep an eye out for dolphins, seabirds, and other local wildlife that call these pristine areas home. Whether you’re hunting for the perfect Scotch Bonnet, uncovering sand dollars, or sifting through tidal pools for tiny treasures, this relaxed and family-friendly outing is all about connecting with nature and soaking in the beauty of the North Carolina coast.

Feel free to bring your own snacks, drinks, and beach gear (yes, alcohol is welcome!), and don’t forget a bucket or bag to collect your finds. Pets and kids are more than welcome aboard, and trips can be launched from either Topsail Island or Wrightsville Beach depending on what’s most convenient for you.

Bring your towel, sunscreen, and beachcomber’s eye—this is your chance to explore untouched beaches and bring home a piece of the coast!
