If you're ready to fish the legendary waters around Chincoteague Island, hop aboard with Captain Billy and get set for an unforgettable day on the water. Whether you're a seasoned angler or brand new to fishing, Captain Billy makes it easy to dive into the action with trips tailored to your schedule and experience.

You’ll be fishing from a 24’ Carolina Skiff—a dependable and comfortable ride outfitted with twin power, GPS, fishfinder, a live bait
well, and an ice box to keep your catch fresh. With space for up to 4 anglers, it’s ideal for families, small groups, or anyone looking for a laid-back, hands-on fishing experience. Morning trips depart at 7:00 AM year-round, and afternoon start times vary by season to match daylight hours:

April 1 – August 31:

• 4-hour trip – 4:00 PM
• 6-hour trip – 2:00 PM
• 8-hour trip – 12:00 PM

September 1 – 30:

• 4-hour trip – 3:00 PM
• 6-hour trip – 1:00 PM
• 8-hour trip – 11:00 AM

October 1 – 31:

• 4-hour trip – 2:00 PM
• 6-hour trip – 12:00 PM
• 8-hour trip – 10:00 AM

These inshore and nearshore waters are packed with opportunity. Depending on the season, you could hook into Redfish, Flounder, Spotted Seatrout, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Striped Bass, Black Seabass, Gray Triggerfish, or even Cobia. A wide range of techniques are used—from light tackle and spinning to jigging, popping, and bottom fishing—and Captain Billy will tailor the approach to what’s biting and what you’re targeting.

Families and kids are welcome, but children must wear life vests—so check with the captain in advance to make sure the right sizes are available. All gear is included: rods, reels, lures, bait (typically caught before the trip), and your fishing license. Plus, complimentary fish cleaning and filleting is provided for any gamefish you choose to keep—just bring a cooler with ice to take your catch home.

To stay comfortable throughout your trip, be sure to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, a hat, and a rain jacket in case the weather changes. Early morning or fall trips can get chilly, so it’s smart to pack a sweatshirt or light jacket. Snacks or a packed lunch are great to bring along—bottled water is provided, and you’re welcome to bring additional drinks (just avoid glass and hard liquor).

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 2 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 2 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
