About Your Trip

Looking to load the cooler with slab crappie and enjoy a laid-back day on the water? Join Captain Homad for a Private Crappie Fishing Trip on the beautiful Coosa River, where the bite is hot, the views are unbeatable, and the memories are just waiting to be made.

Whether you're a seasoned slab-chaser or brand new to freshwater fishing, Captain Homad has the local knowledge and time-tested techniques to put you on fish. You’ll be
targeting Crappie, with plenty of chances at Bluegill and other panfish along the way. Known for their light bite and hard fights, crappie are a fun challenge and one of the tastiest fish around.

Fishing on the Coosa is a year-round opportunity, but the action heats up in spring during the spawn and stays strong through fall and winter. Depending on the season, you’ll use techniques like jigging brush piles, slow trolling with minnows, dock shooting, or vertical fishing over deep structure. Homad will walk you through the tactics, read the water, and adjust to the bite—whether you’re working finesse jigs or live bait.

You’ll be fishing from a comfortable and fully equipped boat built for maneuvering through the Coosa’s crappie-rich waters. The trip is limited to two anglers, making it an ideal one-on-one learning experience or a relaxed day out with a friend or family member. All rods, reels, tackle, and bait are provided, so you can leave the gear at home and focus on the fun.

Just bring your snacks, drinks, sun protection, and maybe a camera—you’ll want proof when you pull in a 15-inch slab! With flexible start times, Captain Homad will get you on the water when the bite is best and the river is calling.

This is more than just a fishing trip—it’s a day of connection with the river, the fish, and the stories that come with them. So if you're ready to learn the ins and outs of crappie fishing Coosa River-style, now's the time to book your trip. The slabs are biting, and your seat’s waiting.
