If you're looking to level up your fishing adventure, Captain Steve’s extended offshore charters out of Cruz de Huanacaxtle are the way to go. These 9–12 hour trips are built for serious anglers ready to chase big game in the deep blue beyond Bahía de Banderas—and with Captain Steve and his experienced crew at the helm, you're in for the offshore trip of a lifetime.

On these longer-range trips, you’ll head well offshore to target true bucket list species. Expect shots at Sailfish, Blue and Striped Marlin, and hard-hitting Yellowfin Tuna. These deep-water trips also give you a chance to reel in Cubera Snapper and big Mahi Mahi, especially when the conditions are just right. With plenty of time to scout and fish the best offshore structure and temperature breaks, your odds of hooking into something epic go way up.

You’ll be fishing from a fully-rigged 28’ Bertram sportfisher designed for extended days on the water. Outfitted with outriggers, tuna tubes, a live bait tank, and all the gear you need for big game trolling and deep dropping, this boat is a battle-ready platform that doesn’t skimp on comfort. Inside, you’ll find a shaded cabin with a bed, kitchen, and private toilet—perfect for relaxing between hookups or grabbing a quick bite before the next run.

Captain Steve includes all rods, reels, bait, and tackle, and he’ll clean your catch at the end of the day. The trip is kid-friendly for families looking to create memories together, and yes—beer is welcome on board. The only extra fee is a $40 USD port charge per boat, paid at the dock before departure.

All gear is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and any gear of your own you want to use on the trip. Beach not included $75 USD per boat
You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
This trip is managed by an outfitter. Steve will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 60 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 60 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Captain Experience has not disappointed us yet. This is the second trip of have used them on first in Cancun and now in Puerto Vallarta both times with kids. This trip was everything we could ask for. Started off with the kids catching a handful of bait fish then we found a mother Humpback Whale and her calf that put on one hell of a show from 40 yards away. Ended the day with 2 huge Jacks and a great Spanish maceral. Captian Scoobie and his crew were amazing and it was an easy, safe and family friendly trip. Highly recommend.

Once you've paid your deposit at checkout, we'll send you a QR Code boarding pass. Just show your guide your boarding pass on the day of the trip, they'll scan it, the remaining balance will transfer automatically, and you'll be all set to get out there. Just make sure you bring a cash tip for the guide!
In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.
Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
