If you’re looking to make the most of fishing in Watamu, Captain Suheil and his crew offer a true East African bluewater experience. These waters are legendary for big game action, with opportunities throughout the year to target Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Black, Blue, and Striped Marlin, Yellowfin and Bigeye Tuna, Wahoo, Giant Trevally, Skipjack, and even Swordfish depending on the season.

You’ll fish aboard a 30’ custom-built cuddy cabin designed for serious offshore performance, comfortably accommodating up to four guests. The boat is fully outfitted with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and modern electronics, along with a private onboard toilet for added comfort. Quality rods, reels, and lures are provided, and the day’s approach may include trolling, popping, jigging, bottom fishing, or heavy tackle stand-up fishing depending on conditions and target species.

An experienced first mate will be on board to assist throughout the trip, helping manage gear and maximize your chances. A customary 10–20% gratuity is appreciated for their hard work.

Your fishing license is included in the charter, and Captain Suheil will ensure you remain compliant with any seasonal regulations. The trip also includes hotel pickup and drop-off, bottled water, soft drinks, and a packed lunch so you can stay focused on the fishing.

Bring sunglasses and non-spray sunblock, and alcohol is welcome in moderation (no hard liquor or glass bottles). With Sailfish season underway and Black Marlin already showing, this is prime time to experience Watamu’s world-class offshore fishery with a seasoned crew that knows these waters inside and out.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Suheil will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 3 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 3 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
