This full-day bass trip is designed for anglers of all experience levels, whether you’re brand new to fishing or looking to fine-tune your approach. Maine’s lakes offer excellent Smallmouth Bass fishing, and William brings the local knowledge needed to stay on fish and adjust to changing conditions throughout the day.

One of the best parts of this trip is its flexibility. You can fish the way you want—whether that’s casting with artificials, fly fishing, or keeping things simple with live bait like nightcrawlers. William will tailor the techniques to your preference and help you dial in what’s working best.

You’ll spend the day fishing from a 20’ fiberglass canoe, giving you a quiet, classic on-the-water experience that’s perfect for these fisheries. With space for two anglers, the trip stays relaxed and hands-on, allowing plenty of time on the rods and personalized guidance along the way.

Danforth serves as a central meeting point, and William will be in touch before your trip to go over the details and plan your day based on current conditions.

Most of the fishing is catch and release to help maintain healthy fisheries, but you’re welcome to keep a few fish for a fresh meal if you’d like.

All rods, reels, tackle, and bait—both live and artificial—are provided. Just bring your fishing license, along with any food, drinks, and personal items you’d like for the day.

With a flexible approach and a focus on creating an enjoyable, easygoing experience, William will make sure you have a great day chasing Smallmouth Bass in classic Maine waters.

Techniques

Everything Else to Know

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing (including rain gear), and anything else you might want on the trip. All tackle is provided but we strongly encourage you to bring your favorite rod and whatever tackle you enjoy fishing with.
You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
