About Your Trip

We specialize in largemouth Bass fishing on one of the most well known bass lakes in all of Texas, lake Ray Roberts has hosted the Bassmaster Classic twice in the past five years, so you know there are some “Texas giants” in there. With the close proximity to the Dallas/Ft Worth it is a great destination to experience what Texas bass fishing is all about.

As a fishing guide I have had the privilege of
guiding on lake Ray Roberts for the past eight years, in addition to that, I began fishing the lake shortly after it opened (approximately 30 years ago).

We can accommodate all skill levels, from beginner all the way to advanced fisherman. Depending on the time of year, we choose the most appropriate techniques to make sure that we have a successful day on the water.

We are a “catch and release only” service for largemouth Bass (we can take lots of pictures), and we specialize in only using artificial lures when bass fishing.

Independent Guide
My name is Ryan, I am a native Texan, born and raised right here in North Texas. I purchased my first bass boat at the age of 15, well before I ever even had a thought about owning my own vehicle to pull it with.

I had always loved fishing ever since I was a young boy but fishing for largemouth bass was quickly becoming the only thing I could think about It was not just a hobby, but a
true passion. Once I purchased that first bass boat I knew then that I was hooked for life. Lake Ray Roberts quickly became my “home away from home” and the sky was the limit! All of the open water that you could ask for, and a consuming desire to explore and learn all of it that I could.

Fast forward a little more than twenty years to 2018, I finally had the opportunity to get to do what I loved to do, and that is to teach and help others catch largemouth bass. Captain Jim Walling asked me to come onboard with his team to be one of his fishing captains. I immediately jumped at the opportunity! Jim owned and operated the guide business, and l purchased it from him once he retired

Lake Ray Roberts opened in the early 1990’s, and he spent 30+ years as one of the top guides on the lake. For the past 8 years, Jim and I have spent many hours on the water together, which has allowed me to deepen my knowledge of Lake Ray Roberts and to pick the brain of the person who knows the lake better than anyone else. After many years of being a full-time professional guide, Jim finally decided

It’s been a huge blessing for all of these years to learn from and be mentored by the longest tenured guide on Lake Ray Roberts. Now it’s time for me to carry on Jim’s tradition of helping others tap into the great fishing that the Ray Roberts has to offer.

With all that being said, let’s get out on the water together to go after some of those FAMOUS TEXAS BASS and make memories that will last a lifetime
