Spend a day on the waters of Northern Michigan with a trip built around flexibility, learning, and staying on fish. Whether you’re fishing rivers like the Manistee system or exploring nearby lakes, each trip is tailored to the season, conditions, and your goals for the day.

Depending on the time of year, you’ll target a mix of species including salmon, brown and rainbow trout, bass, and northern pike. A variety of techniques may be used throughout the trip, including light tackle, fly fishing, and drift fishing.

The Experience

Trips are available in both half day (4-hour) and full day (8-hour) options. Half day trips are great for getting on the water during peak bite windows—especially the morning—while full day trips allow more time to explore, adjust techniques, and stay dialed in as conditions change.

These trips are hands-on and adaptable, whether you’re an experienced angler looking to maximize your time or someone new to fishing wanting to learn the fundamentals. Full day trips are especially well-suited for those looking for instruction, with plenty of time to build confidence and refine technique.

The Boat & Setup

You’ll be fishing aboard a 17’ Sea Ark, a clean and efficient setup for both river and lake fishing. The boat accommodates up to 3 anglers, keeping the experience personal and focused.

All rods, reels, tackle, and fly fishing gear are included, along with live bait when appropriate. Water and light snacks are provided, and full day trips include lunch, with the option for a catch-and-cook experience depending on conditions.

Good to Know

A valid Michigan fishing license is required prior to the trip. Fish can be kept where regulations allow, and catch cleaning is included.

Captain Brian is a lifelong Michigan outdoorsman who has been fishing since he was a kid, learning the ins and outs of the water from his father at an early age. That foundation grew into a deep understanding of the region’s fisheries and a passion for helping others experience it firsthand.

After studying forestry in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, he discovered fly fishing and quickly became dedicated to exploring new water and refining his skills. He began guiding professionally in 2017 and has spent years on the water helping anglers of all experience levels find success.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 30 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 30 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
