Get out on the water with Captain Derrick for a Chesapeake Bay fishing trip built around experience, comfort, and local knowledge. A Maryland native with a long background on the water, Captain Derrick focuses on bottom fishing and trolling to target some of the Bay’s most popular species, including Striped Bass (Rockfish), White Perch, and Catfish.

Trips are offered in a variety of lengths to fit your schedule. The 4- and 5-hour options are great for a shorter outing, whether you’re looking to enjoy time on the water or introduce someone new to fishing. The 6-hour trip allows more time to adjust techniques and cover different areas, often mixing in methods like live lining, trolling, and jigging depending on conditions. Full-day trips provide the most time to settle into the bite and explore productive waters throughout the day.

You’ll be fishing aboard a spacious 34’ Webbers Cove, recently restored with a refreshed interior and updated electronics. The boat features a full cabin and head (toilet and sink), offering a comfortable ride to and from the fishing grounds and plenty of room for up to 6 anglers. With GPS, fishfinder, and radar onboard, Captain Derrick is well-equipped to stay dialed in on fish.

All rods, reels, tackle, and lures are included, along with your fishing license for the day. A first mate will be onboard to assist throughout the trip, and you’re welcome to keep any legal fish you catch.

For a unique finish to your day, there’s also a “hook and cook” option available through a nearby restaurant—your catch can be cleaned and prepared into a fresh meal after the trip.

These trips are family-friendly, and kids are welcome aboard. Be sure to bring drinks, snacks, and sun protection for the day. You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
