About Your Trip

Head offshore from Galveston with Captain Brad for a Gulf fishing experience focused on productive reefs, wrecks, and deeper structure where a wide variety of species can be found. These trips are designed to cover water, adjust to conditions, and give you the opportunity to target both reef fish and pelagic species depending on how far offshore you run.

The 8-hour trip runs approximately 30–50 miles offshore and focuses on a mix of bottom fishing
and trolling. You’ll be targeting species like Red and Mangrove Snapper, Kingfish, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Tripletail, Triggerfish, Spanish Mackerel, and Jack Crevalle. It’s a great option for anglers looking to balance travel time with plenty of fishing time on productive structure.

For those looking to push farther offshore, the 12-hour trip runs 50+ miles out into deeper Gulf waters where less-pressured fish and a wider variety of species are found. Targets may include Red Snapper, Grouper (Gag, Scamp, Yellowedge), Amberjack, Blackfin Tuna, Barracuda, Vermilion Snapper, and Queen Snapper, along with other deepwater species depending on conditions.

Fishing techniques will vary throughout the day and can include bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, and both light and heavy tackle setups. Captain Brad and his crew will adjust the approach based on what’s working best to keep you fishing productive areas.

You’ll be fishing aboard a 36’ center console with room for up to 6 anglers, equipped with GPS, fishfinder, radar, live bait well, and a toilet for added comfort on longer runs offshore.

Trips are run with a first mate onboard to assist throughout the day. Rods, reels, bait, and tackle are typically included, but it’s a good idea to confirm with the captain ahead of time if you plan to bring your own gear or rent equipment. Your catch will be cleaned and ready to take home at the end of the trip.

A valid Texas fishing license is required prior to departure, and some species may be subject to seasonal regulations. Be sure to bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, drinks, and any snacks you’d like for the day. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid glass containers and hard liquor. A 10–20% tip for the mate is customary and appreciated.

If you’re looking to get offshore from Galveston and fish a mix of reefs and deeper waters with a wide range of target species, Captain Brad’s trips offer a solid day on the Gulf.
