About Your Trip

Join Captain Brock for a unique opportunity to target one of the most impressive freshwater fish on the planet. These prehistoric giants have been around for millions of years, and hooking into one is an experience you won’t forget anytime soon.

Trips take place on the Columbia and Willamette Rivers, where Captain Brock will position you over productive holes known to hold big fish. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve chased sturgeon before, he’ll
tailor the day to your experience level and keep things relaxed, informative, and fun.

You’ll be fishing aboard a spacious 25’ Rogue boat that comfortably accommodates up to 6 anglers. All rods, reels, tackle, and bait are provided, so you can focus on the fishing from the moment you step on board.

What to Expect

This 6-hour trip is centered around catch-and-release sturgeon fishing using heavy tackle and bottom fishing techniques. After a short run to the fishing grounds, you’ll set up over proven areas and wait for that unmistakable bite. When it happens, be ready—these fish are powerful, and the fight is every bit as memorable as the catch itself.

Captain Brock will guide you through the entire process, from setting the hook to safely landing and releasing your fish. It’s a great mix of patience, teamwork, and adrenaline.

Good to Know

- Fishing license and tags are required prior to the trip
- Feel free to bring snacks and drinks (no bananas)
- Lunch can be arranged ahead of time for an additional cost
- Kids are welcome, making this a great option for families
- Coastal weather can change quickly—dress in layers and bring rain gear

Sturgeon fishing is all about the experience—the anticipation, the fight, and the stories that come with it. If you’re looking to check a true bucket-list fish off your list or just want a different kind of day on the water, this is a great way to do it.

Born and raised in Astoria, OR, I have been chasing Salmon, Sturgeon, and Steelhead on the lower Columbia River since I can remember. Having that local knowledge has proven to catch fish while others are struggling. Guiding has been a dream of mine since high school when I was a bait boy on a charter boat the summer of my senior year. Since then, I told myself one day I'll have my own sled and continue to help people hook into that once-in-a-lifetime "King” Salmon or the elusive 10' Sturgeon.
