About Your Trip

Spend a day floating the world-famous Salmon River in Pulaski, NY, targeting hard-fighting Salmon and acrobatic Steelhead in one of the most productive river fisheries in the country. With Andy on the oars, you’ll cover productive water efficiently while fishing proven drifts that consistently hold fish.

These 6-hour guided drift boat trips are designed for small groups of up to three anglers, creating a more hands-on and personalized experience. Depending on the time of year,
you’ll be targeting Chinook (King) Salmon, Coho Salmon, and Steelhead. Salmon season typically runs from mid-September through October, while Steelhead fishing takes over from November through April.

Fishing is primarily done using light spinning tackle and back-trolling techniques, both of which are highly effective on the river. For those interested, fly fishing is also an option, giving you the chance to approach these fish with a more technical presentation. All rods, reels, tackle, bait, and flies are provided, and you’ll have guidance throughout the day on presentation, drift control, and fighting fish in current.

Your trip takes place aboard a 17’ drift boat built for navigating the river’s currents and accessing water that’s difficult to reach on foot. This style of fishing allows you to stay mobile, adjust to changing conditions, and spend more time fishing productive stretches.

You’ll just need to bring a valid New York fishing license, weather-appropriate clothing, and any snacks or drinks you’d like for the day. Families are welcome, and kids can absolutely join, just be sure to check on life vest sizing ahead of time. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, though glass containers and hard liquor should be avoided.

From powerful fall Salmon to high-flying winter Steelhead, this is a classic river fishing experience that keeps you engaged from the first drift to the last.
