About Your Trip

Get out on the waters of Lake Ontario out of Olcott, New York during the prime spring fishing months of April and May targeting a mix of Brown Trout, Lake Trout, and Salmon with Captain Mark. These trips are designed around trolling productive water and covering ground to stay on active fish throughout the day.

Depending on conditions, water temperatures, and bait movement, you may have opportunities at multiple species during the same trip—one of the things that makes the Lake Ontario fishery out of Olcott so productive during the spring season.

Trips are available in both half-day and full-day formats for up to 4 anglers and are great for both experienced anglers and families looking to spend time on the water together. Kids are welcome onboard, and Captain Mark enjoys helping anglers learn techniques and improve their fishing throughout the trip.

Fishing takes place aboard a 23’ dual console equipped for trolling and set up to comfortably fish smaller groups while covering productive offshore water efficiently.

Throughout the trip, you’ll primarily be trolling with light tackle setups using a variety of presentations depending on the target species and conditions for the day.

All rods, reels, tackle, bait, and fish cleaning are included with the charter. Guests are responsible for bringing a valid New York State fishing license before the trip.

Be sure to bring weather-appropriate clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, drinks, and snacks for the day. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but glass containers and hard liquor should be avoided.

Whether you’re looking to target spring trout and salmon or simply enjoy a day fishing Lake Ontario, Captain Mark focuses on creating productive, relaxed trips for anglers of all experience levels.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel up to 1 day before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
