About Your Trip

Come join me out on Crowley Lake, on my spacious and fast center console bay boat. Where we will target Rainbow trout, Brown trout, Cutthroat trout, and Sacramento Perch. I guide this lake with fly fishing and/or conventional tackle methods and any skill level is welcome on the boat. The boat has a live-well should you want to keep any fish, with a Lowrance sonar, and 5 padded seats for your comfort, as well as 2 coolers to keep refreshments cold.

I offer full (8 hours weather permitting) or half days (4 hours) on Crowley Lake. On average, a boat ride to our fishing spot can be around 5-15 minutes long. Most of the time we will find the fish relatively quick, some days will require a little more "hunting" of the fish because they're a little more spread out. Spots to have lunch are back at the Marina, or on the boat if you want to continue to fish while you eat. We can also go over to the Crowley Columns to sight see a little if you'd like to eat and take some pictures of the Historic Crowley Columns.

With me being a local of the area, and fishing the lake for about 25 years, you're fishing with someone who was raised on the water and knows how to read the water and the hatches. I will not stop working for you throughout your whole trip, with changing patterns to throw, and netting your beautiful catches. I'm also very knowledgeable in valley history as well as most things Eastern Sierra, so I try to keep the conversation going and engaging.

Independent Guide
Seth is a California DFW licensed, bonded and insured fly fishing guide. (#1000612)

We are a professional fly fishing guide company. We offer top quality trips in the Eastern Sierra, ranging from walk and wade river fly fishing trips, to Stillwater boat fly fishing trips in comfort on a 20ft center console boat, where we catch anything from Brown trout, to Cutthroat trout, and Rainbow trout. We also offer specialty trips in the summer for warm water species such as
bass and carp fly fishing in ponds located south of Bishop. We offer half day trips (4hrs) or full day trips (8hrs) and we include all the gear such as: fly rods, line, flies and terminal tackle. For our full day trips, we do offer a lunch option as well. We guide as far north as the East Walker River, and as far south as the L.A. aqueduct. We are a year-round guide businees that welcomes all skill levels, from never touching a fly rod before, to a seasoned veteran to the sport, and anywhere in between.

Seth was born and raised in the Eastern Sierra (Bishop/Mammoth, CA), fishing/fly fishing has been apart of his life since he was 4 years old and he was raised around some of the best Fly Fishermen in the industry at that time. He learned skills from them by watching and fishing with them, as well as honing in his fishing knowledge everyday after school. His father and grandfather were major influences in learning fish behavior.

Seth took on a passion for fly fishing at an early age, learning to fly cast at the age of 7 in a parking lot of His and Her fly shop in Newport Beach, CA.

We specialize in fly casting 101 as well as learning to read the water/river, entomology such as the bugs that fish feed on and why we're using those specific flies (AKA Match the Hatch). Even on the tougher days when the bite is slow or the client is having trouble with tangles in their line, we always try to focus on teaching the client different things to keep the day more on the positive end and always learning.

If you were cooking for all your friends what would you cook?
Tri Tip, mashed potatoes with a nice pepper gravy, with roasted carrots.

What was your last halloween costume?

What do you want for Christmas this year?
Anything fishing or hunting related.
How did you get started guiding?
In 2016 I was offered the opportunity to be a fly fishing guide through a local fly fishing shop in Bishop, CA. I accepted the offer, and got my guide license, and was able to do my first ever guided fly fishing trip, and was hooked, I couldn't see myself doing anything else. I stayed with that shop for 4.5 years, then went to another local outfitter from the area and stayed with them for 4 years as well when Karli and I decided to do our own thing. I had 8 years under my belt of guiding experience at this point, and years of knowledge of not just fishing, but how to treat clients, both on the boat and walking the water.
What makes you different from other guides?
I always hear there's 2 types of guides, there's the "puts people on a ton of fish, but isn't personable" guide, and the "slower fish day, but have a memorable learning day/conversation" guide, and I try to strive to be a mix of both as personable as I can be, and put people on a successful day that they consider is successful for them. I've been told by both clients and friends, that I'm the best of both worlds, that clients like my personality on the water, and that I also, no matter good or slow day, give 110% of my effort into your success on the water.
