About Your Trip

Fishing out of Portside Marina, you'll have the option to choose the style of trip that best fits what you'd like to do on the water. Whether you're interested in staying closer to shore, making a run offshore, or fishing reefs and wrecks, there are opportunities to target a variety of species throughout the season.

Nearshore trips typically take place 5–20 miles offshore and focus on species such as Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Bonito, False Albacore, and other seasonal fish when available. These trips are often a good fit for families, first-time anglers, or anyone who prefers to stay closer to the beach.

For those looking to venture farther offshore, Gulf Stream trips run approximately 50–70 miles offshore to fish productive bluewater areas, including places such as the Swansboro Hole and Big Rock region. Depending on the season, anglers may target species like Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, Sailfish, and Marlin.

Bottom fishing trips focus on offshore ledges, wrecks, and live-bottom areas located anywhere from 15 to 50+ miles offshore. Common targets include Grouper, Amberjack, Triggerfish, Snapper species (when in season), Sea Bass, and other reef fish that relate to structure.

Trip departure times vary depending on the trip you've booked, with common start times including 4:00 AM, 5:00 AM, and 5:30 AM.

You'll be fishing from a 26' center console equipped for both nearshore and offshore fishing. The boat features comfortable seating, a marine restroom, large insulated fish boxes, advanced electronics and navigation equipment, and a Bluetooth sound system so you're welcome to play your own music during the trip. Select offshore trips may also have access to Starlink internet capability. The boat also carries safety equipment that exceeds Coast Guard requirements.

All rods, reels, tackle, and fishing gear are included, so there's no need to bring your own equipment. The trip is suitable for anglers of all experience levels, and the crew is happy to help whether you're brand new to fishing or have spent years on the water. If you'd like to bring drinks, canned beer is allowed onboard.

Fish cleaning is available after the trip, and if you have questions about a specific trip style or target species, the crew can help point you in the right direction before your day on the water.

Passion for the ocean. Lost my mom to breast cancer in 2024 and self reflection on living a full life and no regrets. Never regreted anything ive done or said but would certainly regret NOT chasing my passion. Nanny's Revenge is in tribute to my mom. Everyone called her NANNY.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 5 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 5 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
