Experience one of North America's premier freshwater fisheries with a full-day drift boat adventure on New York's legendary Salmon River. Guided by USCG Master Captain and full-time New York fishing guide Joe, you'll spend the day targeting powerful migratory salmon and trout from a comfortable 2024 Willie drift boat built specifically for fishing these famous waters.

Joe guides the Salmon River full-time throughout the season and stays on top of changing conditions. If river fishing slows during the fall run, he may recommend moving to nearby Lake Ontario to maximize your chances of success. The goal is simple: put you on the best bite available.

From September through October, you'll target hard-charging King and Coho Salmon as they make their annual spawning run. These powerful fish provide some of the most exciting freshwater battles you'll ever experience and are the reason anglers travel from around the world to fish the Salmon River.

As autumn gives way to winter, Steelhead and Brown Trout become the primary targets, creating a season that stretches well into spring. Steelhead are famous for their blistering runs, aerial displays, and technical nature, making every hookup incredibly rewarding. Joe's passion for trout fishing shines this time of year, and he'll teach you the presentations, drifts, and subtle techniques that consistently fool these challenging fish.

Your day is spent fishing productive runs, pools, and seams from the drift boat, allowing you to efficiently cover water that many bank anglers simply can't reach. During the colder months, onboard propane heaters help keep you comfortable so you can stay focused on fishing even when temperatures drop.

This full-day trip typically lasts 6-8 hours and includes all rods, reels, tackle, and equipment. Simply bring your New York fishing license, weather-appropriate clothing, food and drinks, and prepare for one of the Northeast's most iconic fishing experiences. Whether you're chasing your first King Salmon or hoping to land a chrome-bright Steelhead, you'll be fishing with a dedicated local guide committed to putting you on the best bite available.

Everything is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and anything else you might want on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
