This 7-day, 6-night Maldives Big Game Fishing Expedition is built for serious anglers looking for a private, adventure-focused fishing experience. The trip is designed for a group of up to five guests and takes you across productive Maldivian waters in search of powerful offshore species such as tuna, sailfish, marlin, wahoo, and other big game targets, depending on season, weather, and fishing conditions.

You will fish from a 38ft centre console boat set up for sport fishing, with space, speed, shade, safety gear, and equipment support for different techniques. The program can include offshore trolling, tuna chasing, jigging, casting, and big game fishing methods based on your goals and the conditions during the trip. A local guide and crew will support the fishing, navigation, tackle preparation, and daily planning.

The package includes guesthouse accommodation, local transfers, meals, and daily fishing activities, making it easier for international guests to arrive, settle in, and focus on the adventure. Each day’s plan is adjusted around the weather, target species, guest experience level, and the best available fishing opportunities.

I am a Maldivian sports fisherman, Director of Programs, and guide at Lobster Tales, a private fishing and ocean adventure charter in the Maldives. My journey in sport fishing began in 2015, followed by our fishing tackle business in 2021 and charter operations from 2022, serving both local and international guests. Lobster Tales was built from our lifelong connection to the sea, local fishing knowledge, and passion for creating memorable ocean experiences. With our 38ft center console, we offer sport fishing, island adventures, and custom trips designed around each guest’s style. Our goal is to show you the adventurous side of the Maldives and help every guest return home with a real tale from the sea.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 30 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 30 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

In the event of inclement weather, our guides will check the conditions and make the final call on whether its safe to go on the trip. If they decide the trip needs to be postponed, we'll work closely with you to reschedule or provide a credit for the full deposit, which can be applied to any of our trips in the US and beyond.

Each trip's price is determined by the guide and reflects all associated costs. A significant factor in pricing is often the type of boat and the corresponding fuel expenses. Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
