About Your Trip

Take on some of Cape Verde's largest shoreline predators with a heavy surf casting adventure designed for anglers looking to fish powerful tackle from the island's beautiful beaches. Using oversized rods, reels, and terminal tackle, you'll present large baits into productive surf zones where big fish regularly patrol.

Before every trip, your guides evaluate the tides, weather, wind, and sea conditions to determine the safest and most productive beaches to fish. Their extensive local experience allows them to adapt each outing to the day's conditions while maximizing your opportunities.

Heavy surf casting opens the door to encounters with some of the Atlantic's most impressive sharks. Lemon Sharks, Nurse Sharks, and Blacktip Sharks are among the more common visitors, while Tiger Sharks occasionally make an appearance for fortunate anglers. Every hookup delivers an unforgettable battle from shore using heavy-duty equipment designed specifically for these powerful fish.

Your trip includes transportation from your accommodation, quality heavy surf casting equipment, and two experienced fishing guides who will assist with bait presentation, fish handling, and safe catch-and-release practices whenever possible.

If you're looking for a true big-game shore fishing experience unlike anything found in most destinations around the world, heavy surf casting in Cape Verde is one you'll remember for years to come.

Independent Guide

Orlando and his experienced team specialize in land-based fishing adventures across the Cape Verde islands, introducing anglers to one of the Atlantic's most unique shore fisheries. Built around a strong Catch & Release philosophy, they've spent decades mastering the beaches, rocky coastlines, and remote fishing spots of Sal and São Nicolau, adapting each trip to the tides, wind, and seasonal conditions to maximize your opportunities.

From seasoned shore anglers to adventurous first-timers, the team provides the local knowledge, premium equipment, and guidance needed to fish confidently using techniques like spinning, rock fishing, surf casting, heavy surf casting, live and dead bait fishing, and even fly fishing when conditions allow. Every outing is carefully planned around the day's weather and tides, with safety and conservation always at the forefront.

Whether you're casting into crashing surf for hard-fighting jacks, working topwater lures from volcanic cliffs, or exploring secluded beaches few visitors ever see, Orlando and his team are passionate about sharing the incredible fisheries and breathtaking scenery that make Cape Verde such a memorable destination.
