Independent Guide
Captain Jeff has spent his life fishing, and has fished all over the world throughout the years. From the British and US Virgin Islands, Mexico, Belize, Bahamas, and up and down the East Coast - but for him there’s no place like the Florida Keys. Captain Jeff has yet to find a place where he can go that has the variety that Islamorada has to offer.

When people ask what his favorite fish to catch is, his answer is always
the same: Whatever’s biting and whatever the weather is best for. He just likes to have fun and catch what’s biting depending on the season.

Captain Jeff has been fishing in the Florida Keys since the mid 80’s. He is grateful to grow up there and have the best fishing pioneers in the Keys as his mentors. He watched Bob Lewis from Miami change the Sail Fishing world forever when he invented Kite Fishing. His neighbor Don Gurgiolo, one of the first individuals to throw cast-nets for live bait Offshore Fishing, started him out fishing as a mate on Charter Boats. Don was an excellent mentor and teacher for Captain Jeff, and by the age of 13 he had Jeff driving and docking a 47 ft Willis Craft! To say Captain Jeff feels blessed to have known and learned from all the great fishing captains and guides is an understatement.

Everything is seasonal in the keys, but one thing is for sure: If you have an open mind and just want to catch what’s biting, either backcountry or offshore, the Islamorada Florida Keys area is the place to be! With over 35 years of Backcountry and Offshore fishing experience in the Florida Keys, Captain Jeff can’t promise you’ll catch everything, but he can promise there won’t be a single wave unturned to make it a successful and memorable Fishing trip!

So, if you like to catch fish and have plenty of laughs along the way, from family fun trips to excursions for seasoned anglers, backcountry fishing, tarpon fishing and offshore fishing, Captain Jeff would love to get you out on the water!
