About Your Trip

If you're looking to hunt down a trophy Largemouth and take your electronics game to another level, this is the trip for you!

Join professional tournament angler Captain Tyler for a full 8-hour day built around targeting big Largemouth Bass using modern forward-facing sonar techniques. Rather than simply looking for numbers, the focus here is finding the quality fish that serious bass anglers dream about.

Captain Tyler will select from productive DFW-area lakes based on
current conditions and where he believes you'll have the best opportunity to find big fish. You'll learn how to use forward-facing sonar to locate, track, and ultimately trigger Bass in real time, with an emphasis on offshore structure, suspended fish, and advanced seasonal patterns.

This is also an opportunity to learn how a successful tournament angler approaches the water. Captain Tyler can walk you through interpreting electronics, bait selection, boat positioning, reading fish behavior, making adjustments, and knowing when it's time to leave one fish or area in search of a better opportunity.

Captain Tyler has competed on fisheries across the country, collecting numerous top finishes and earning Angler of the Year honors while competing against some of the sport's best fishermen. This trip gives you the chance to tap directly into that experience while spending a full day applying those lessons on the water.

You'll fish from a fully rigged 20' Phoenix bass boat powered by a 250HP Mercury and loaded with the modern electronics needed for this style of fishing. Rods, reels, tackle, lures, water, and ice are included.

Come prepared to fish hard, learn a ton, and spend the day hunting for the kind of Largemouth that can make a single bite worth the wait!

Independent Guide
Captain Tyler is a professional tournament Bass angler who brings years of competitive fishing experience directly to his guided trips around North Texas.

Originally from Northern California, Captain Tyler went on to fish collegiately at Auburn University before continuing to build his career in competitive Bass fishing. He's since competed on fisheries across the country, earning numerous top finishes while testing his skills against some of the best anglers in the sport.

Most recently, Captain Tyler's success on the tournament
trail earned him Angler of the Year honors in 2025. That competitive background has taught him how to quickly break down unfamiliar water, recognize changing patterns, understand fish behavior, and make the constant adjustments required to consistently find Bass.

Today, he enjoys sharing that knowledge with anglers around the Dallas-Fort Worth area. His trips can be as straightforward or technical as you'd like. Beginners can learn the fundamentals of Bass fishing, while experienced anglers can dive into advanced topics like seasonal movements, lure selection, offshore fishing, tournament strategy, and modern forward-facing sonar.

Captain Tyler is also passionate about introducing younger anglers to the sport. From helping a kid catch their first Bass to coaching high school tournament fishermen, he enjoys giving the next generation the knowledge and confidence they need to keep progressing.

Whether you're chasing your first Largemouth, hunting for a trophy, preparing for a tournament, or looking to better understand your electronics, Captain Tyler looks forward to sharing what he's learned and helping you become a better angler along the way.
