About Your Trip

Head out with John for an exciting day of Striper fishing on Lake Texoma! Lake Texoma is a striper fishing hot spot that many enthusiastic anglers flock to every year to experience an exciting fishing charter. Like many others before them, they know this region of Texas offers great striper fishing which can be a challenging and exciting day of fishing, especially when you hook up to a big one!

On this 4-hour trip, John
will motor you out on Lake Texoma to go after some monster Striped Bass using light tackle. You don't have to be a professional angler to enjoy striper fishing in this wonderful lake. Even if you don't have an ounce of fishing experience, you can rest assured your striper guide, John, will be there to lend a helping hand and provide you with all the coaching help you may need!

You'll be fishing aboard a 26' SportCraft Center Console with room for 6 people. Its 300 HP Yamaha is mounted on an exterior platform that provides the boat with more room while giving you a smooth ride. She has a small cabin under the center console for privacy. Other features include an anchoring system, VHF Radio, two Lowrance GPS/Fishfinder Electronics, an underwater sounding system and a porta-potty when requested.

John will provide quality rods, reels and tackle, and he'll also filet and bag the fish for your trip home! We recommend a small cooler for your food and drinks or carrying your fish filets home, sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat. John requests that you do not wear hard soled shoes on the boat.

Get ready for a freshwater fishing adventure!

Captain John is an experienced Lake Texoma fishing guide offering Lake Texoma striper charters. Originally born in Boston, MA, John started fishing for Striped Bass ("Stripers") with his dad when he was six years old, surf casting for cruising stripers from the beaches of Cape Cod.

Occasionally, he would go with a friend to fish Martha's Vineyand and the Atlantic waters surrounding Nantucket Island. Stripers consumed his attention thanks to their strong fight and natural beauty.

In Captain John's teens
the family moved to Connecticut where they continued to fish for Stripers in Long Island Sound, Block Island Sound and around Montauk, New York. Captain John purchased a 23' Mako center console and began running Striped Bass fishing charters along the Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York shorelines.

Over the years, Captain John is proud to say his biggest Striper to-date is a 67 pounder caught on live mackerel in Plum Gut in New York waters. Then, 30 years ago a job brought Captain John to the greatest country on Earth, Texas. He already knew about Lake Texoma because he served as the Director of Marketing for Abu Garcia while living in New Jersey.

He spent many weeks on Lake Texoma with the Abu Garcia film team and recalls how he had already regarded Lake Texoma as one of the best Striped Bass fisheries in the world. Lake Texoma Stripers spawn naturally unlike other lakes. After fishing recreationally on Lake Texoma for 16 years, Captain John made the leap into professional guiding year-round.

Captain John loves teaching and watching people catch fish more than he likes catching them himself. His personal best Lake Texoma Striper is 27 pounds and he's always searching for a bigger one!

Captain John is a Coast Guard licensed captain and a licensed guide in Oklahoma and Texas. He is fully insured and has all safety equipment and electronics.
