From May through October, join Captain James for an unforgettable deep sea adventure off the coast of Maryland. With over 30 years of experience in tournament, commercial, and charter fishing across the globe—including top finishes in prestigious competitions like the White Marlin Open—Captain James brings a world-class approach to every trip. His passion for the sport, combined with a deep knowledge of these waters, ensures that every outing is expertly planned and full of action.

The day begins aboard a 45’ Custom Carolina sportfisher powered by twin 800HP engines. With a cruising speed of 25 knots, you’ll reach the continental shelf—about 50 miles offshore—in just two hours. That leaves you with plenty of time to focus on what really matters: catching fish. Each trip includes roughly eight hours of fishing and four hours of travel round-trip, giving you a full day on the water.

Captain James and his experienced crew will guide you through a variety of techniques based on the target species and conditions, including trolling, chunking, deep dropping, jigging, and kite fishing. You’ll be chasing some of the most exciting and hard-fighting pelagic species out there, like Yellowfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Bigeye, Albacore, Swordfish, White and Blue Marlin, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Black Seabass, and Tilefish.

Everything you need is provided, including top-of-the-line Shimano rods and reels, tackle, bait, lures, ice, drinks, and fishing licenses. The crew prepares all bait and tackle, assists throughout the day, and cleans and bags your catch when you return to the dock. All you need to bring is your own food, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a cooler for your cleaned fish—leave that in your vehicle until you return.

The boat is built for performance, with all the necessary electronics and equipment for serious offshore fishing. Whether you’re an experienced offshore angler or just stepping into big game fishing, the crew is there to assist or instruct based on your needs.

For those looking for the ultimate experience, Captain James also offers a 24-hour overnight trip running from May 21 through October 15. Departing the dock around 7 a.m. and returning by noon the following day, this trip gives you a full liveaboard experience with around-the-clock fishing opportunities. It’s a chance to chase deep-drop swordfish and tuna after dark, while relaxing and refueling between runs. Just like the day trip, all tackle, bait, gear, drinks, and licenses are included—you bring the food and the energy.

With over 30 years of experience fishing all over the world in charter, tournament, and commercial fishing, you can be guaranteed you are with one of the most respected and experienced captains around. Captain James has operated private sportfishing yachts throughout the Bahamas, Mexico, Caribbean, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and the east coast of USA from Florida to Maine. He has worked his way up from the bottom starting at a young age so he knows every facet of the fishing industry.

In 2013 he started his own charter fishing business bringing his wealth of knowledge and experience with him. He has been mentored by some of the best captains in the business and he guarantees you will have a day to remember for a lifetime.

Captain James has successfully competed in over 100 fishing tournaments throughout the world. In recent years some of his most significant wins were in Ocean City, Maryland where he has won 1st place Blue Marlin in the WMO tournament, 2nd place White Marlin in the WMO tournament and 1st place in the Ocean City Tuna Tournament.

Cancel up to 1 day before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

James and Dave provided an amazing experience for our family. They gave us an opportunity to hunt the big trophies and, when they weren't biting, put us on some delicious tilefish. We pulled up fish consistently for a couple hours and went back to trolling for the big one. We weren't able to bag a big tuna or marlin, but James and Dave worked hard to put us on big fish, told great stories, gave us a beautiful boat ride and made sure we caught plenty of fish for the cooler. I'd definitely do it again. It is a long day out, so be prepared for sun and some motion sickness. Pre-dosing sensitive riders is a good idea.
