About Your Trip

From May through mid-June, head offshore from Hatteras with Captain James for a high-powered deep sea fishing adventure. With over 30 years of experience—including top finishes in world-class tournaments like the White Marlin Open—Captain James brings serious skill, strategy, and passion to every trip.

You'll fish aboard a 45’ Custom Carolina sportfisher, cruising at 25 knots to reach the Gulf Stream in just two hours. That gives you plenty of time to target Yellowfin Tuna,
Bigeye, Albacore, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Marlin, Tilefish, Black Seabass, and even Bluefin Tuna, depending on conditions.

Captain James and his crew use a mix of trolling, chunking, deep dropping, jigging, and kite fishing to keep you on the bite. Whether you're a seasoned offshore angler or a first-timer, the crew is ready to assist and make sure you’re in the action.

All gear is included, along with bait, drinks, ice, and licenses. The crew will clean and bag your catch after the trip—just bring your own food, sun protection, and a cooler for the ride home.

Looking to go bigger? Captain James also offers a 24-hour overnight trip during this window, with around-the-clock fishing and a shot at tuna and swordfish after dark.

James and Dave provided an amazing experience for our family. They gave us an opportunity to hunt the big trophies and, when they weren't biting, put us on some delicious tilefish. We pulled up fish consistently for a couple hours and went back to trolling for the big one. We weren't able to bag a big tuna or marlin, but James and Dave worked hard to put us on big fish, told great stories, gave us a beautiful boat ride and made sure we caught plenty of fish for the cooler. I'd definitely do it again. It is a long day out, so be prepared for sun and some motion sickness. Pre-dosing sensitive riders is a good idea.
