Join Captain Cody for a true Texas wade fishing experience targeting trophy Speckled Trout in the shallow waters around Texas City. This trip is geared toward experienced anglers who enjoy a more active, technical style of fishing and want to get up close and personal with some of the Gulf Coast's most sought-after game fish.

Rather than fishing from the boat, you'll step into the water and work productive flats and structure on foot, giving you a stealthy approach to areas where big trout feed. Using artificial lures or live croaker, you'll make targeted casts in shallow water where some of the largest specks in the system are known to roam.

There's nothing quite like feeling the strike of a big trout while wading, then watching it tail dance across the surface and deliver the signature head shakes that make Speckled Trout such an exciting fish to catch. Every hookup is a direct connection to the fish, creating a thrilling and memorable experience that keeps anglers coming back season after season.

Captain Cody will help put you in the right areas and provide guidance throughout the trip, using his local knowledge to maximize your chances at quality fish. How did you get started guiding?

I've been fishing my entire life, It became a passion of mine at a very early age thanks to my grandfather's. I decided to become a full-time guide after tournament fishing up and down the Gulf Coast from Florida to Port Isabel Texas.

What makes you different from other guides?

I cover all aspects of Ensure and nearshore fishing. From flounder gigging, kayaking, wade fishing, jetty and mastering every part of our Bay complex!

Bring pants and shoes that you're comfortable getting wet. Rods, reels, tackle, and bait included.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Cody will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

The deposit for this trip is non-refundable except for weather-related cancellations. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Captain Cody took my son and me out on a Friday morning. We caught a variety of fish including redfish, sheephead, flounder, speckled trout, black drum, and golden grouper (see photos).

My son and I are a couple of novices. Cody was super patient with us. He helped us bait hooks, get lines untangled, remove pesky hardheads, etc. without ever seeming frustrated with us. He cleaned our fish the way we wanted....

Booked online and got confirmation And nothing went as planed changed to different location , had a different guide other than the one we had meticulously chosen ,then we got shorted 2 of our 6 hour trip.
