About Your Trip

Nothing beats a day of bottomfishing in the beautiful waters off of Orange Beach, AL! Captain Joe loves going after bottom fish species such as Vermillion Snapper, Triggerfish, and Grouper, and he'll make sure to put you right on top of some prizewinners! You're also likely to hook up Amberjack, a famously stubborn fish some captains call "reef donkeys". These fish are a blast to fight, and they'll really test your strength and stamina once caught.

To hook these deep-water fish, you'll be jigging and throwing baits over reefs and rocks where these fish hang out. Not only are these species fun to fight, they're also delicious, and Captain Joe's cooler will keep them cold until you're back on the dock.

You'll be fishing aboard his 46' sportfisher, with a capacity for up to fifteen people and two powerful John Deere engines totaling 750 horsepower. This vessel also features an air-conditioned cabin, GPS, fishfinder, a live well for bait, ice box for your catches, four bunks, and plenty of deck space for fishing. There's no better boat for a big family trip!

Your captain will provide all rods, reels, tackle, live bait and fishing licenses. All you need to bring is sunglasses, sunscreen, and any snacks or drinks you might want while on board. He'll do the rest!

I started commercial fishing the bays at the age of 12, and have since worked on the water, running all types of vessels. After working the Shipping and oil service vessels for a few years I moved to Lower Alabama and as I like to explain it I fell into the wrong crowd and got back into fishing and the rest is history I have been in the charter fishing business full-time since 1987 out of Orange Beach Al, and I have been USCG licensed since 1982. I have fished over 6,000 paid charters and still love to see people catch fish! Our crew takes pride in our boat, customers, and catch. I would like to have the opportunity to take you and your family, or a group of friends, fishing! I have 2 vessels that I mainly operate one is a 44 Henriques offshore USCG for 20 passengers we offer private charters for small to large groups. The other vessel is an inshore 24ft Kenner and I operate that when the offshore fishing slows down mainly early spring, fall and winter.

I enjoy all types of hunting on my time off as well as fishing (yes I still enjoy fishing every day I can get out after all these years)

How did you get started guiding?

Started fishing early in life and after going around the world on ships, tugs and working the oilfield boats I moved to this area and fell into the wrong crowd and got right back into fishing for hire over 35 years ago lol

What makes you different from other guides?

Plenty of true charter experience over 6000 paid charters in the past 35 plus years, I don't lie just to get your business (even knowing fishermen have a tendency to lie haha) My crew and I try our best every day and as we know there are never any guarantee's when dealing with mother nature.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 30 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 30 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
