About Your Trip

On this big-time trip out of Algoma, WI, you'll be exploring the amazing waters of Lake Michigan on a 33' 30 Open, equipped with all the latest equipment and gear that will quickly and safely get you on the fish. You'll be targeting the premier Lake Michigan species: Lake Trout, Steelhead, and King and Coho Salmon. These species are all members of the Salmonid family, and are voracious predators of small baitfish.

In order to
"get bit" you'll be running trolling gear with baits and lures, both of which are great at drawing in hungry Salmon and Trout. Without any predators in these waters, these fish can get huge, even breaking the 30-pound mark (the record is over 40 pounds!). When a monster takes your hook, strap in for a battle—these fish are known for their ferocious fighting abilities, which can feature big runs and even water-clearing jumps.

Any catches you would like to take home can be cleaned and filleted by the Captain when you get back on the dock! Everything you need will be waiting for you, including all the rods, reels, tackle, and bait. Just bring proper clothing, some sunglasses and sunscreen, and your fishing licenses!

Independent Guide
Captain Patrick and Captain Alex have joined forces to run terrific sportfishing trips out of Algoma, WI, and invite you to get out there with them and enjoy the great fishing that Lake Michigan has to offer.

Captain Pat grew up fishing the small creeks, ponds, and lakes around his house. As he got older, he was introduced to fishing on Green Bay and Lake Michigan by family friends. Fishing is his passion, as well as being outdoors in general.
He sincerely enjoys sharing outdoor experiences with others, especially families and children who are just getting started as young fishermen and fisherwomen. In his words, "I look forward to meeting you, and providing you and your group a fun, exciting, and memorable day on the water!"

Captain Alex has been fishing on Green Bay and Lake Michigan since he was old enough to hold a fishing pole in his hands. He writes, "Growing up, I spent many summers first-mating for my father, and I knew right then that I needed to share my passion for fishing with others. Nothing gets me more excited than watching others catch the biggest fish of their life and share those stories and memories with their family and friends. My top goal as a captain is to give you a successful day on the water both by catching fish and sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport so you can use it to catch fish on your own."
