About Your Trip

This is a very fun trip for the fisherman who does not know how to throw a cast net to catch his own bait so he can get out and go fishing or just stock up the freezer for next time. We will start off in the boat and head towards the flats in the lower Laguna Madre or to the Jetties by the beach we will get our Nets and I will show you how to catch mullet, croaker, pinfish, shiners, and even ballyhoo. It is a little work and it's good exercise while you're throwing the cast net waiting in the water about Knee Deep you need to bring polarized glasses so that you can see the bait swimming in front of us so that you can throw the cast net then we could pull them on the boat or up on the beach and put them in the ice chest and start to bag them up for your future fishing trip. The bait that we catch can be used in the bay or it can be used out in the Gulf to catch snapper sharks and grouper Etc. Plan on having a good time and a lot of fun bring some cold drinks and a hat with sunglasses

We had a great time with Captain Russell. We caught our limit of Redfish and several other species. My wife caught a “quadruple crown” with a Redfish, Trout, Flounder, and Drum. We were even treated to a private bar after our trip where we learned a lot of local history. Captain Russell knows where the fish are. Had a good time with Russell. He knows the fish and knows the area. Would have liked a few more fish but that's how fishing goes. Russell did all that any captain could to put us on the fish. Would definitely book another trip with him.
