About Your Trip

Head out with Captain Raul for an exciting day of fishing! Cabo offers some of the best year-round sportfishing for big game billfish and more (perfect for escaping the cold in the winter months). Let Captain Raul land you some fish as you relax with a cold drink!

On this 5 to 8-hour trip, Captain Raul will take you off the beautiful Cabo coast where you can expect to target Mahi Mahi, Black Marlin, Blue
Marlin, Striped Marlin, Roosterfish, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and Yellowtail Amberjack. You will target these trophy fish using a variety of fishing techniques such as light tackle, heavy tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, and jigging. Whether you want to actively fish with a rod in your hand or bask in the sun while Captain Raul and his boat do all the work to get a reel screaming, this trip will have you covered!

Captain Raul offers this trip on several of his well-equipped offshore boats depending on your price point and number of guests. Rest assured all 7 of his vessels are more than well equipped for navigating the Baja coast and landing you some fish! On this trip, you'll be aboard his speedy 29’ sportfisher that holds up to 5 people. While this is Captain Raul's most budget-friendly option, it's safe to say there is nothing lacking on this vessel to give you a memorable experience!

Everything you will need for a relaxing but action-packed adventure is included on this trip! Captain Raul will provide Shimano Rods, water, drinks, ice, beer, fresh fruit and delicious snacks. Raul and Captain Pepe were awesome! Captain Pepe is one of the best fishermen I've ever fished with and often fishes in large tournaments. We caught a marlin and mahi-mahi and later got the mahi-mahi prepared to eat at a restaurant.

The only critique is Captain Pepe's English wasn't very good if you weren't talking about fishing, but regardless he knew everything there is to know about fishing.

Highly recommend.

This was not a trip to be remembered at all. First the booking process says $750 all inclusive. I arrive in Mexico for vacation and get a text the day before our trip saying we have to pay licenses $18 apiece (I’m ok with this just wish it was stated) but I have to pay for live bait $30??? We were supposed to be at the dock at 6:30 AM. Well our captain was 1 hr late didn’t have the boat ready at all. We didn’t even have gas!!! I had to upfront the gas $375 and was told it would be taken out of our excursion cost! We didn’t leave the harbor til 8:30. Already well into the best fishing time of the day. We came to Cabo to catch Marlin as it’s suppose to be the best. The reports from the deck mate says they are supposed to be within 5-10 miles from shore. He drove us 40 miles offshore where he says it was supposed to be better. No he was chasing Tuna as he knows he can sell that if we catch it. We didn’t want tuna. We didn’t even catch a bite. We trolled for 6 hrs and nothing. We didn’t even use our live bait either as they gave it to another boat leaving the shore as we came in. We got back to the dock, settled our tab and left. Luckily my CC alerted me as a fraud alert for the trip and I froze my card as they tried to charge the rest of the trip outside my deposit not subtracting the gas. I spent weeks saying I will only pay the difference between the total less the gas and deposit which is what I agreed to before the trip. This was the worst experience I have ever had from top down, I will never book through this company/or with the captain again. We were offered nothing except welp we are sorry. Also no photos to be posted because nothing was close to getting us onto fish. So much for a damn good trip.

Response from Captain Experiences:
Hey Jordan I'm sorry to hear you didnt have a good time out there with Pepe but I wanted to clear a few things up. The trip listing you booked says on the listing that licenses will cost $18 per person and that live bait is not included in the cost of the charter. Regarding the fishing we trust our captains to give you the best chance to get on fish. They don't always bite...

Regarding the fishing we trust our captains to give you the best chance to get on fish. They don't always bite and it can feel like a letdown when they don't, but there are no guarantees in fishing and we do our best to give every customer a good time on the water (or to get them back out there when things dont quite work out).

After your trip we tried to get ahold of you multiple times both to talk about how the trip went and to collect payment because you left the dock without paying, and it took you a month to get back to us.

The awesome staff at Captain Experiences helped me understand which charter out of Cabo would be best for my group, and Captain Raul & his team led by Captain Pepe over delivered! We caught plenty of fish including some massive yellowtails, spent the sunrise watching enormous whales breach the surface,
and wrapped up the day with some fresh sashimi from our catch.

We had first-time fishers and lifelong anglers on the boat and everyone left in fantastic spirits! Looking forward to doing it all again on our next trip to Cabo!
