About Your Trip

Join Captain Mike for an unforgettable day of sight fishing the legendary Mosquito Lagoon out of New Smyrna Beach! Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-timer looking for a thrilling challenge, this flats and inshore adventure promises exciting action and beautiful waters.

For one to two anglers, Captain Mike specializes in classic sight fishing for Redfish and Speckled Trout—weather permitting—with an emphasis on stealth, precision, and the ultimate in angling excitement. If you’ve got
three anglers on board, no worries! You'll switch gears and use live bait or artificial lures to stay on the fish and keep the rods bending. Throughout the trip, you’ll have the opportunity to target a variety of prized species, including Redfish, Speckled Trout, Snook, Black Drum, Mangrove Snapper, Flounder, and even Tarpon if they’re around!

You’ll be fishing from Captain Mike’s 19' Hells Bay skiff, a shallow-draft, fish-catching machine built to stalk the skinny waters of Mosquito Lagoon with ease. Powered by a reliable 90 HP Suzuki engine, this skiff gets you quietly and quickly where the fish are tailing. While there’s no restroom onboard, the boat is perfectly suited for poling the flats and offers an unmatched fishing platform for serious light-tackle and fly anglers.

Captain Mike offers a range of techniques including light tackle, fly fishing, cut bait fishing, live bait fishing, topwater action, and sight casting. He supplies all rods, reels, tackle, and live bait—you just need to bring your favorite snacks, drinks (beer is welcome, but no glass please), and sun protection. Plus, he’ll clean your catch at the end of the trip if you want to take home dinner!

Captain Mike is flexible with departure locations and welcomes anglers of all skill levels, including kids. And in case the weather doesn’t cooperate, you won’t have to worry about losing your deposit.

If you’re looking to experience the magic of stalking tailing Reds or hooking into a hard-charging Snook in some of Florida’s most iconic inshore waters, this Mosquito Lagoon adventure with Captain Mike is the trip for you!
