About Your Trip

This self-guided duck hunt is ideal for duck hunters with a little bit of experience under their belt, who want to bag some birds in one of America's best duck habitats. This trip is also a little less pricey than a guided trip, but you'll be shooting from the same places and the hunting is just as good.

South Texas is smack in the middle of the Central Flyway, and is a stopover for dozens of migratory waterfowl species. The sheltered bays here draw hundreds of thousands of ducks annually, including Green-Winged and Blue-Winged Teals, Wigeons, Redheads, Pintails, Gadwalls, and Mottled Ducks, and more! You can target all of these species, which are exciting quarries and great eating to boot!

On this trip, your outfitter, Captain Mitch will make sure to put you in the perfect spot to nail some inbound waterfowl. He'll provide the blinds and decoys, so all you need to bring is your waders, your guns, and your shells. He'll motor you out to the blind, but once you're out there, he leaves the hunting up to you!

If you are looking to catch fish at any experience level and have a trip to remember, Mitch is an outstanding and friendly guide! He was well prepared, communicated times and location well, and was very knowledgeable of the location and local wildlife. He even fileted and packaged our catch for us. Captain Mitch is fun to hop in the water with.
Put us on some fish, explained why we were doing what we were doing, and even pointed out some park-and-wade spots for future trips to Corpus.
(Too soon to review his recipes!)

Got out with Mitch for a buddy's bachelor party and had an absolute blast! Some of the guys hadn't fished in a while (or at all) but Mitch was super patient in showing them the ropes. Mitch fishes super high quality tackle, had plenty of bait, and the boat was running smooth. We ripped it to a number of spots from surf fishing outside the jetties to countless inshore spots. We missed a few bites...

Went fishing with Captain Mitch on 10/24 and had a great time. He was very knowledgeable about fishing in both Baffin Bay as well as laguna madre and we caught a good amount of keeper speckled trout and a black drum. We release another good amount of undersized trout !! He was super personable and shared his knowledge of fishing. I would definitely going fishing with him again.
