About Your Trip

San Salvador is arguably the best place in the world to target MONSTER WAHOO, and the Captain Joe will once again be putting this much-heralded destination back on its itinerary for 2024, albeit for a fairly short duration. This tiny island in the far southern Bahamas is a magnet for big wahoo, just ask George Poveromo who has fished here twice in the last 5 years, and has bagged wahoo over 100 pounds (117 and 143) on both occasions! Trolling is the name of the game, and with a healthy shark population, many unfortunately are lost to predators, but this is part of the game here in San Sal.

When in San Salvador, we charter out of Riding Rock Marina. Riding Rock offers both dining and hotel facilities, as well as a full PADI Dive operation. From the marina, the famous hump to the North is 10 miles, while the NE and Sandy Point are each about 7 miles. Often unfished, is the South-East point, which also offers some incredible structure for big game fish. OU currently creates custom trips to San Salvador, but is not there all the time, so please call ahead! San Sal is in close proximity to both Cat Island and Rum Cay.

We are offering 3 to 5 day fishing packages in mid- to late-March, days are limited. Each day is typically 8 hours of fishing time.
- The 72 Hr hrip is for 3 days of fishing
- The 96 Hr trip is for 4 days of fishing
- The 120 Hr trip is for 5 days of fishing
