About Your Trip

Join Captain Robert for an unforgettable day on the Sacramento River, where he’s been casting lines and reeling in fish for over 25 years. With a lifelong passion for fishing and a love for sharing the thrill of the catch, Captain Robert knows these waters like the back of his hand. His expertise, USCG Captain’s license, California Fishing Guide certification, and CPR/First Aid training ensure you’re in the best of hands for a safe and exciting adventure.

Your trip will kick off with a scenic cruise along the river, as Captain Robert guides you to some of his favorite fishing spots—places he’s discovered through years of exploration and countless days on the water. Once we arrive at the perfect fishing hole, the lines go in and the action begins! Captain Robert will rig up all the rods with the ideal bait and tackle, setting you up for a great day of targeting the prized Striped Bass.

Striped Bass, or “stripers,” are a unique and highly sought-after species known for their thrilling fight and unpredictable movements. Unlike salmon, these anadromous fish don’t follow a fixed migration pattern, instead moving between freshwater and saltwater based on factors like food availability and water temperature. While peak season for stripers runs from April to June, when they spawn as the river warms up, the Sacramento River offers the chance to catch them year-round—sometimes when you least expect it!

All the fishing gear you’ll need is provided, including top-quality rods, reels, and tackle, so you can simply focus on having fun. If you prefer to bring your own equipment, that’s fine too! Captain Robert's boat is well-stocked, and you’re welcome to enjoy your own snacks and drinks throughout the trip.

At the end of the day, Captain Robert will clean, fillet, and bag your catch, so you can bring home fresh fish and memories that will last a lifetime. Whether you're an experienced angler or a first-timer, you’ll enjoy plenty of laughter, good conversation, and tight lines on this adventure.

About Your Guide

Robert P.

Captain Robert has been fishing the Sacramento River for 25+ years with an unrivaled passion for learning new techniques and fishing spots. His years of experience have allowed him to have great success fishing for numerous species of fish.

After years of keeping a “don’t ask, don’t tell” fishing policy, he realized that no matter where his day job was, it was never going to be better than a view from the boat with a fish tugging on his line.
And, with the world being made of 70% water, the possibilities were endless.

Having fished the Sacramento River since he was a young boy, he couldn’t imagine guiding anywhere else. He is qualified to operate as a guide with his years of experience, USCG Captains license and CA Fishing Guide license, as well as being certified in CPR and First Aid.

Everything Else to Know

- Your current CA Fishing License, this is an absolute must! If our planned trip is for sturgeon or steelhead you will need an additional tag included with your license.
- Make sure to bring any food or drinks you will want for the day and we will have an ice chest onboard for these items. Alcohol is permitted for adults over 21.
- Proper attire based on the weather. It’s often best to bring an extra layer of clothing for the early morning that can be removed when it starts to heat up. Keep in mind, the temperature is typically a few degrees lower on the water.
- Under California law, every child under 13 years of age on a moving recreational vessel of any length must wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket in serviceable condition and of a type and size appropriate for their weight and size. We provide adult life jackets and always keep a throwable personal flotation device onboard, but we ask that you come properly equipped with the appropriate life jacket for any child under the age of 13.
- Sunglasses, hats, sunblock, bug repellent….all the common items that will provide you with a comfortable trip. And, don’t forget your camera!! Of course, if you do, we are more than happy to send you any picture we take on the day of the trip.
- An ice chest to bring home your catch of the day!
You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
