About Your Trip

Join Tony for a true Mosquito Lagoon inshore fishing experience, where shallow water, clear flats, and world-class sight fishing come together in one of Florida’s most iconic estuaries. Trips typically begin at sunrise, when the water is calm, the light is low, and fish are most actively feeding across the flats.

After a short boat ride, you’ll be fishing almost entirely in the shallow waters of Mosquito Lagoon, a fishery known for its incredible visibility
and steady inshore action. This is classic backcountry fishing where every cast can put you in direct sight of cruising or tailing fish.

Redfish are the staple target here year-round, offering consistent opportunities and strong fights in skinny water. Alongside them, anglers will regularly encounter Speckled Seatrout and Black Drum, both of which provide excellent action on light tackle. During the warmer months, Snook also move into the area in greater numbers, adding another exciting and powerful inshore target to the mix.

The style of fishing is highly visual and engaging, often involving sight casting in shallow water where precision and timing matter. Whether working soft plastics, topwater lures, or live bait depending on conditions, every presentation is designed to match the behavior of fish moving across the flats and edges of the lagoon system.

Tony brings 35 years of fishing experience in Mosquito Lagoon and 16 years as a professional guide, giving him an unmatched understanding of local tides, seasonal movements, and fish behavior. That knowledge is a major advantage when it comes to consistently finding fish and putting guests in the right place at the right time.

This trip is fully adaptable to all ages and skill levels. Beginners will receive hands-on guidance throughout the day, while experienced anglers can enjoy more technical sight fishing opportunities in challenging shallow water environments. The focus is always on creating a relaxed, enjoyable day on the water while still delivering plenty of action.

Mosquito Lagoon itself is a unique and beautiful fishery, known for its clear water, abundant wildlife, and peaceful natural surroundings. Dolphins, birds, and even manatees are commonly seen while moving between fishing spots, adding to the overall experience beyond just the fishing.

If you are looking for an authentic shallow water fishing adventure near New Smyrna Beach, Tony offers a highly experienced, local-guided trip focused on consistent action, expert knowledge, and the best of what Mosquito Lagoon has to offer.
