This trip begins with a 6:00 a.m. departure from the dock, followed by an approximately two-hour run offshore to some of the most productive fishing grounds in the area.

Once on the fishing grounds, you'll typically be working waters 20 to 30 miles offshore in depths ranging from 80 to 130 feet. These areas are known for their natural bottom formations, including rocks, ledges, and hard-bottom structure that attract a wide variety of reef and bottom-dwelling species throughout the year. These underwater features provide ideal habitat for baitfish and gamefish alike, making them prime locations for consistent action and quality catches.

This trip is centered around traditional offshore bottom fishing, one of the most effective and exciting ways to target hard-fighting reef species. Captain Stewart carefully selects productive areas based on current conditions, seasonal patterns, and years of local experience fishing these offshore waters. The goal is to put anglers directly over structure where fish are actively feeding and ready to bite.

All tackle aboard is specifically rigged for hardcore bottom fishing. The equipment is designed to handle deep water, heavy structure, and powerful fish, giving anglers the best chance to successfully land quality catches. Depending on the season and regulations, anglers may encounter a variety of popular offshore species that inhabit these rocky ledges and bottom structures. Every drop offers the possibility of a strong strike, and the variety of fish found offshore keeps the action exciting throughout the day.

Beyond the fishing, the offshore run itself is part of the experience. As you head farther from shore, you'll enjoy open-water views, fresh ocean air, and the anticipation that comes with fishing some of the area's most productive offshore habitat. It's a great opportunity to escape the crowds and spend a day targeting fish in deeper water where larger species often reside.

After returning to the dock, a fish cleaning service can be arranged for a small fee of $0.60 per pound, allowing you to head home with professionally cleaned fillets ready for the table.

Captain Stewart was born and raised in Wilmington, NC. He began offshore fishing at the age of 12 and started mating professionally at 19. Stewart obtained his Capt License in 2010. He started his own outfit in 2014.

"I love fishing for everything, but would consider my specialty to be bottom fishing (grouper/snappers). Whether its hunting or fishing my number one goal is for the group to have an enjoyable and memorable experience, so they’ll come back again. I especially like seeing kids on the boat, there's no describing the feeling when you see a kid catch their first fish. I try to be 100% professional at all times."

All rods, reels, and tackle are included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and any gear of your own you want to use on the trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
