About Your Trip

There’s a fish with your name on it in the stunning Siletz River, and Captain Riley is here to help you reel it in! Winter steelhead are the stars of the season, and with Riley’s deep knowledge of these waters, your odds of hooking into one of these prized fish are better than ever. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or casting for the first time, this trip promises an unforgettable day on the river.

Winter
steelhead are Riley’s specialty, and with countless hours spent on the Siletz, he knows exactly when and where to find them. Drifting along the river’s picturesque bends, you’ll use light or heavy tackle, depending on the conditions, as you work to land these hard-fighting fish. Along the way, you might also encounter Chinook or Coho Salmon, depending on the season, as well as other exciting species. Whether you're battling a steelhead or bringing in something unexpected, every cast is filled with anticipation.

You’ll be fishing from a sleek and sturdy 18’ ClackaCraft drift boat, designed to handle the Siletz’s currents with ease while keeping you comfortable throughout the day. With space for up to three passengers, it’s the perfect setup for a small group or family outing. Riley has you covered with all the gear you’ll need, including rods, reels, tackle, and lures. Live bait may be used, so be sure to ask if you’ll be catching it yourself—another fun challenge for those who love hands-on fishing!

What happens to your catch? If it’s within the legal limit, you’re welcome to keep it, and Riley will expertly clean and fillet it for you. Imagine heading home with fresh, ready-to-cook fish—it’s the perfect way to end a perfect day.

These trips are open to all ages, so bring the family along! Riley loves helping young anglers hook their first fish, and the Siletz River offers the perfect backdrop for unplugging, connecting, and making memories. If you’re bringing kids, just double-check about child-sized life vests or bring your own to ensure a good fit. And don’t forget to pack plenty of snacks to keep everyone fueled for the adventure.

Before your trip, make sure you’ve got all the essentials. Sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, sunglasses, and bottled water will keep you comfortable throughout the day. You may also need a local fishing license or special tags depending on the species you’re targeting, so check ahead or ask Riley for advice.

With Captain Riley at the helm, your winter steelhead adventure on the Siletz River is more than just a fishing trip—it’s an opportunity to experience the magic of this breathtaking river while chasing some of the Northwest’s most sought-after fish. Book your trip today and get ready for a day of drift fishing, big catches, and unforgettable memories!
