About Your Trip

et ready for an unforgettable nearshore fishing adventure with Captain Ron in the abundant waters off Daytona Beach! Just minutes from downtown and up to three miles off the coast, Captain Ron’s Nearshore Reef Fishing Charters bring you straight to some of Florida’s best fishing grounds. With natural reef formations and an extensive system of artificial reefs, these waters are a haven for a wide variety of species, offering thrilling action for anglers of all ages and skill levels.

Your trip begins at Ponce Inlet, the gateway to the Atlantic Ocean and one of the most legendary fishing spots in the Daytona Beach area. Known for its proximity to prime fishing grounds, Ponce Inlet ensures you’ll spend less time traveling and more time fishing. Whether you’re after a prized Bull Redfish or exploring the reefs for Snapper and Grouper, the action starts as soon as you leave the dock.

Captain Ron specializes in bottom fishing these vibrant nearshore reefs, where you’ll target species like Mangrove Snapper, Lane Snapper, Flounder, Black Drum, Sea Bass, Whitings, and Weakfish. Depending on the season, you’ll also encounter Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackerel, and Sheepshead feeding in these productive waters. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you might even tangle with larger gamefish like Cobia and Tarpon, which patrol the reefs and provide an adrenaline-pumping fight.

The Ponce Inlet area is famous among anglers for its population of massive Bull Redfish. These mature Redfish thrive on the nearshore reefs, feeding on schools of baitfish and providing some of the most exciting angling opportunities in Florida. During the fall, big schools of Redfish enter the inlet to chase migrating bait, offering incredible action and a chance to land the fish of a lifetime. For Redfish enthusiasts, this trip is truly something special.

If you’re looking to add a little extra thrill to your adventure, ask Captain Ron about his Shark Fishing Trips! The nearshore waters of Daytona Beach are teeming with a variety of shark species, especially during the summer months. You’ll have the chance to catch Atlantic Sharpnose Sharks, Spinner Sharks, Blacktips, Hammerheads, and more, making this an exciting option for families and anglers looking for a memorable experience.

Captain Ron’s charters are fully equipped to make your trip as smooth and enjoyable as possible. All the gear you’ll need—rods, reels, tackle, bait, and ice—is included, as are your fishing licenses. Just bring your favorite snacks, drinks, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a camera to capture the day’s highlights. A cooler with ice will be provided for your refreshments, or you can bring your own if you prefer. Beer and wine are welcome (no glass bottles or liquor, please), making it easy to kick back and enjoy the ride. At the end of your trip, Captain Ron offers fish cleaning services for an additional fee, so you can take home your catch ready to cook and enjoy.

Whether you’re chasing big Bull Redfish, bottom fishing for Snapper, or battling sharks for an unforgettable thrill, Captain Ron’s Nearshore Reef Fishing Charters offer an exciting and family-friendly way to experience the vibrant waters of Daytona Beach. With his expert guidance, local knowledge, and passion for fishing, this is your chance to explore some of Florida’s most productive fishing grounds and make memories that will last a lifetime.
