I have plenty on the boat ready to go. Other types, including other zinc types, but especially spray types and chemical based types, cause damage to my boats gel coat and upholstery, leaving orange stains that can be permanent. The zinc type I provide is hypoallergenic, works much better than other types of sunscreen, contains no chemicals implicated in potentially causing cancer, and is non toxic to marine life. This is a strict rule so please do not bring or apply other sunscreen ahead of time. Read More

Is booking a fishing guide worth the money?

Hiring a guide provides a number of benefits and many choose to book a fishing guide for a combination of experience, local knowledge, convenience, and cost-effectiveness.

Working with experienced fishing guides who know the best local spots and techniques can dramatically increase your odds of a great day. Having someone who is on the water every day and knows the area like the back of their hand is going to give you the best chances of success.

Booking a guide is also more cost effective, especially if you only get out a handful of times per year. When you consider all of the costs you would incur on your own such as the price of a boat, maintenance, insurance, gas, high-quality gear and tackle, repairs, and more, you’ll find that DIY is sometimes not worth the expense.

The inlet provides access to both the Atlantic Ocean and the Halifax River, offering a variety of fishing environments, from surf fishing along the beach to deep-sea fishing offshore. This diversity makes Ponce Inlet Beach a hotspot for anglers seeking a wide range of catches and fishing experiences.

One popular method of fishing at Ponce Inlet Beach is surf fishing, which allows anglers to cast their lines directly from the shoreline into the breaking waves. Species commonly caught from the surf include pompano, whiting, flounder, and redfish, among others. Anglers can use a variety of baits such as live shrimp, sand fleas, or cut bait, as well as artificial lures, to entice these coastal species. Surf fishing at Ponce Inlet Beach provides anglers with a relaxing and scenic fishing experience, with the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the beach while waiting for bites.

For those seeking more adventurous fishing outings, offshore fishing at Ponce Inlet Beach offers the chance to target larger and more prized species such as mahi-mahi, wahoo, sailfish, and tuna. Charter boats departing from Ponce Inlet Marina take anglers out to deeper waters of the Atlantic Ocean, where they can troll for pelagic species or bottom fish over reefs and wrecks. Offshore fishing at Ponce Inlet Beach offers anglers thrilling encounters with some of the ocean's most sought-after game fish, making it a memorable and exhilarating fishing experience.

The inlet and nearby waters teem with life during this time, providing ample opportunities for anglers to enjoy productive and rewarding fishing outings.

Summer brings its own set of fishing opportunities to Ponce Inlet Beach. While the heat may drive some species deeper into cooler waters, others remain active near the shore or in the inlet's channels. Species like tarpon and snook become more prevalent during the summer months, offering anglers the chance to test their skills against these powerful fighters. Additionally, offshore fishing for pelagic species like mahi-mahi and sailfish can be especially productive during this time, drawing anglers seeking exhilarating deep-sea adventures.
