About Your Trip

Join Captain Marcus for a winter steelhead fishing trip on the legendary Umpqua River system in Oregon. If you're planning a Pacific Northwest getaway during the colder months, this is a prime opportunity to experience one of the most respected steelhead fisheries in the lower 48.

These trips focus on drifting big water in a classic drift boat setup, covering productive stretches of river where steelhead move through during the winter season. The Umpqua system
is known for its strong runs and the opportunity to encounter true trophy-class fish in a rugged, scenic setting.

Drift boat fishing on the Umpqua is a highly effective method for targeting steelhead, allowing you to quietly work seams, runs, and holding water as you move with the current. The experience is as much about the river itself as it is the fishing, with the surrounding Oregon landscape providing a true Pacific Northwest backdrop.

This is a winter-only fishery, making timing an important part of the experience. Many anglers choose to combine multiple days on the water, or pair a fishing trip with time exploring nearby national parks or the Oregon coast.

Whether you're planning a dedicated fishing-focused trip or adding a day on the river to a broader Oregon adventure, this Umpqua River steelhead trip with Captain Marcus offers a chance to fish one of the most iconic winter steelhead systems in the country.
