About Your Trip

If you're looking to reel in some serious fish off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, Captain Colton and Captain Hector have you covered. With years of local experience and a passion for putting anglers on the bite, these expert guides are ready to take you on an unforgettable fishing adventure.

The waters off South Florida are teeming with action, and depending on the conditions, you’ll have a shot at King Mackerel (Kingfish), Sailfish, Wahoo, Mahi
Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Bonito, Snapper, Grouper, and more. Whether you're looking to battle a trophy Sailfish with the adrenaline-pumping technique of kite fishing or drop baits for a hard-fighting Mutton Snapper, your captains will put you in the right spot at the right time.

On these trips, you’ll use a mix of trolling, bottom fishing, drift fishing, and heavy or light tackle techniques to target the best bite. The boat is fully equipped with outriggers, a live bait well, GPS, fishfinder, and all the gear you need to get lines in the water.

The half-day (4-hour) trip is perfect for those looking for a quick offshore adventure, targeting Kingfish, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Wahoo, Blackfin Tuna, and Vermilion Snapper near the reefs and wrecks. If you want a little extra time to chase down bigger fish, the 6-hour trip allows for a mix of offshore and reef fishing with the chance to hook into Black, Gag, and Red Grouper, Mutton Snapper, and Yellowtail Snapper. For anglers who want to go all out, the full-day (8-hour) trip gives you the best shot at deep-water trophies like Sailfish, Wahoo, and Tuna while still offering opportunities for Grouper and Snapper action.

You'll be fishing aboard a 28' Whitewater center console, built for speed and comfort. With space for up to six passengers (though four to five is recommended), this fishing machine is fully equipped for a productive day on the water. All rods, reels, tackle, and lures are included, along with your fishing license for the day. At the end of your trip, the crew will clean and fillet your catch at no extra charge—just don’t forget to tip your captain for his hard work.

Water is provided, but feel free to bring along any snacks and drinks you’d like (no glass containers). Young anglers aged four and up are welcome, making this a great option for a family fishing adventure. If you don’t have a child-sized life vest, just ask in advance to see if there’s one on board.

Book your trip today and get ready to fish Fort Lauderdale like never before!

Independent Guide
We are a deep sea fishing charter based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. If you're looking for your trophy catch or some dinner for the table, we are your guys. Captain Hector and I (Captain Colton) have been fishing these waters for many years now with tons of experience on the water from Pompano all the way down to the Keys. Basically the whole southeast coast. Our fishing machine for your fishing adventure is a 28 foot Whitewater, powered by a Cummins 6BTA 330 HP diesel engine. We really enjoy and look forward to putting a smile on our clients face when they get to catch a fish on one of our trips. Whether you're an experienced angler or you've never held a fishing rod before we can coach you through the correct techniques to land that trophy fish you've been waiting to catch. If a great time on the water is the experience you're looking for then look no further.

Rapid Fire Guide Q & A

What’s the biggest fish you’ve caught?
I get this question a lot on charters and it's not a fish I caught but it's a fish I put a good client on. It was a 100lb Amberjack that we caught on a light jigging rod and we fought it for 30 min. Definitely an unforgettable experience.
If you were cooking for all your friends what would you cook?
A go to for me is a classic steak and some potatoes. You can never go wrong with a good ole juicy steak.

What’s your favorite band?
I don't personally have a favorite band but my favorite genre is Country music, though I love all kinds of music.
How did you get started guiding?
I had always loved to fish with my grandfather growing up in bass tournament together. Which led to him introducing me to pier fishing; where I would target nearshore species such as snook, tarpon, mackerel, mangrove snapper and a variety of other species. From there on my fishing addiction grew more and more. I started out my fishing career on a party boat in Miami, FL. I started as a mate, learning the ropes which led to me pursuing my captains license. I ran that same party boat for about 2 years which taught me a lot about fishing and how to be a captain. Fast forward to present day and now Captain Hector and I are proud owners of Get Reel Sportfishing where we get to share our some love for fishing with you!
