Lake Taneycomo is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and thriving trout fishery—and you’ll be right in the heart of it, targeting both Brown and Rainbow Trout. Captain Blake offers a flexible approach to fishing: you can choose between fly fishing and traditional light tackle, or even mix in some live bait or the classic nightcrawler setup. Whatever your style, he’ll tailor the trip to fit your preferences.

You’ll be fishing aboard a nimble and efficient 20’ utility boat, perfect for navigating the calm waters of the lake and nearby river stretches. The boat is fully stocked with all the gear you’ll need—rods, reels, tackle, and bait are all included. Bottled water is also provided to keep you hydrated throughout the day.

This trip is ideal for families, and kids ages 5 and up are welcome aboard. If you’re bringing anyone under 14, just check in advance about a child’s life jacket to make sure everything is ready for a safe and fun day.

With trip times available in the early morning or afternoon, you’ve got options to suit your schedule—whether you’re an early riser chasing that crisp morning bite or looking for a laid-back afternoon on the water. My name is Captain Blake and I operate out of Lilley's Landing Resort Marina on Lake Taneycomo in Branson Missouri. Fishing has been my passion since I was knee high to a duck. Started fishing at the age of three, and from 5 years old aspired to be a professional fisherman when I grew up. I got into guiding after being led by my mentor Duane Doty, a Lake Taneycomo veteran of over 20 years as a guide. I run a 20 foot G3 gator tough center console boat. Im a one man operation but when group trips are required I can accommodate knowing and working with many of the other professionals on Lake Taneycomo. As a fishing guide I believe in providing a fun, relaxing, entertaining time to take you away from your regular 9-5 and enjoy the peace, serenity and world class fishery that exists in Lake Taneycomo. I not only want you to leave with memories for a lifetime but skills you can take into all your future fishing experiences. So I believe in teaching while guiding from the way the fish behave in specific conditions but also the methods to use for such conditions. Outside of fishing I really only have time for one other lifetime hobby and that is bowling. However time with my family takes precedence when I'm not on the water. When you book with me you can expect a fun, nature filled memory for one or the whole family that consists of laughter, learning, and of course tight lines.

How did you get started guiding?
Always aspired to be a professional fisherman but great friend and mentor Duane Doty of Ozark Trout Runners was my inspiration for getting started as a guide.
What makes you different from other guides?
I believe in a personable entertaining experience to forget about all your typical life worries and enjoy Gods creation. Trout fishing is truly my passion and I hope to pass that love and passion to all my clients.

You will need your Missouri fishing license (16+) and trout stamp
Bring your own drinks, snacks and appropriate clothing
You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.
We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).
Cancel for free up to 7 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 7 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.
In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
