Whether you're chasing a trophy Walleye, looking to fill the cooler with delicious Perch, or battling feisty Smallmouth, Captain JJ will put you on the fish. Departing from Port Clinton, OH, Captain JJ will take you to some of Lake Erie’s best fishing grounds. Raised in a fishing family, he learned the trade from his father and grandfather, and now he’s ready to share his passion and expertise with you. The trip is family-friendly, so kids are more than welcome aboard.

You’ll be fishing from a 30’ Sportcraft boat, a spacious vessel that comfortably accommodates up to six anglers plus the captain and first mate. With top-tier safety and navigation gear, a toilet for convenience, and high-quality Saint Croix rods and reels, this boat is set up for both comfort and success. Live bait is included, giving you the best chance at landing your limit.

A morning or afternoon full-day trip gives you plenty of time to explore the waters and chase after Lake Erie’s top species. Whether you’re an experienced angler looking for a challenge or a beginner wanting to make unforgettable memories, Captain JJ will tailor the trip to your experience level.

Be sure to bring a valid Ohio fishing license, along with food, drinks, and weather-appropriate gear. If you're planning to stay overnight before or after your trip, Captain JJ offers private lodging just two miles from the dock. It’s a great way to rest up before your big day on the water.

Captain JJ specializes in putting his clients on top of the hottest bite. I welcome you on my 30' Sportcraft with plenty of fishing room, and a walk-around bow for added space. I supply the finest rods, reels, tackle and live bait. I have a 454 Chevy engine that will get us to that hot bite fast. You will only find top of the line electronics on board, and the boat has a restroom for your convenience. We use light tackle drifting and we also troll. If you bring the little ones I will help them catch their own fish. Life jackets for them will be provided and there is no age limit. You can keep the catch or release it back to the water, it's completely up to you. Just buy a valid fishing license before the trip. Let's go have some fun!

All rods, reels, and tackle are included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and any gear of your own you want to use on the trip.

You'll need to buy a fishing license before getting out there. Find out more about licenses here.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 30 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 30 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.
