About Your Trip

Hop on board with Captain Jay and prepare for an action-packed day of fishing the flats! Cape Coral is world famous for its fishing, and its hundreds of miles of canals make for an ideal spot to do some productive fly fishing.

On this 4 to 8-hour trip, Captain Jay will take you to the inshore canals and flats of Cape Coral, where you can expect to target a variety of species such as Jack
Crevalle, Mangrove Snapper, Permit, Redfish, Sheepshead, Snook, Spotted Seatrout, and Tarpon. Captain Jay has been guiding fishing trips in Florida since 1998, so expect him to have some great tips to get a fish on your line!

To attract these picture-worthy fish you'll be using a fly rod to cast exactly where the fish are swimming. Captain Jay is happy to demonstrate proper fundamentals for this technique to newcomers, or to provide experienced fly fishers with some expert tips.

Captain Jay fishes aboard a 23' Aquasport bay boat, equipped with a GPS, Fishfinder, Live Bait Well, and an Ice Box to store your catches. The 200 HP Suzuki engine on this vessel is sure to get you where you need to be in the Cape Coral inshores.

Captain Jay will provide all rods, reels, and tackle. All you need is a valid Florida fishing license as well as any food or drinks you might need. Come aboard with Captain Jay and catch some fish!

Captain Jay was born in south Florida and raised along the waters of Biscayne Bay and the Florida Keys. Born from generations of commercial fishermen, Captain Jay quickly realized that we should not only turn to the sea as a means to harvest food but also cherish and be grateful for all she has to offer. At an early age Captain Jay realized that he wanted to share his love for the sea with everyone he met. His passion for all things salty led him to numerous journeys all over south Florida to include the offshore waters off greater Miami and the Florida Keys as well as the back country estuaries of the glorious Florida Everglades, Flamingo, Chokoloskee and the magnificent Ten Thousand Islands. Before long, Captain Jay was spending his time teaching friends how to free dive the reefs, hunt for pelagic fish offshore and fish the flats for serious trophy fish.
