About Your Trip

I love shark fishing. I would bet more than almost every other guide. Why? I like seeing people pull on big fish. Predictably. We get lots of sharks. I consider a 6-8 shark day “ok”. We have only been zeroed a few times on 20 years. We have loads of 15 shark days. It is planned chaos. I tell people when we arrive at our destination "relax, we are going to set up the chum slick and it takes 90 minutes for the spread to start bringing sharks in. Of course, one may be close, but when they get on the scent, they will come.. And keep coming."

I make my own chum and tie my own rigs. We set up, start a chumslick. And then wait. We don’t go chasing. They come to us. We usually have four lines in the water…and keep them in, even if someone is on a shark. We like hooking doubles and triples.

The fishery is mostly catch and release. Most of the sharks up here are blue sharks. We have been seeing a lot more makos over the past few years. And brown sharks (dusky, sandbar, and sand tiger). A typical keeper is a porbeagle or thresher shark that weighs 300-500#. That’s a ton of meat, so think if you have the resources(friends) to take that much. Sometimes, it's better to just release.

The trips are 9ish hours long. We love what we do and the gear is light enough for kids and smaller adults to enjoy the battle. And the gear can still whoop anything short of a great white! Bring your cameras!!

I love this. Taking people fishing since 2004 and I still feel like a little kid. What I like most about my business is that I don't just do one type of trip. If it swims, I fish for it. I love this. Taking people fishing since 2004 and I still feel like a little kid. What I like most about my business is that I don't just do one type of trip. If it swims, I fish for it. And I appreciate the little things; seeing the sunrise, enjoying the seas, teaching kids and adults how to fish; how to best handle the gear. With some species, it's just amazing to target them (like giant tuna, sharks). Other species are great to eat and catch in numbers. Cape Cod is a great place to fish; tons of species to target. And warm waters!

Our season starts in April and ends in November. The "short list" is:

April: Squid.

May: Squid, porgy (scup), black sea bass, stripers/blues, fluke

June: Porgy, black sea bass, stripers/blues, fluke, bluefin tuna

July: Porgy, black sea bass, stripers/blues, fluke, bluefin tuna, sharks, bonito

August: Porgy, black sea bass, stripers/blues, fluke, bluefin tuna, sharks, bonito, false albacore

September: stripers/blues, fluke, bluefin tuna, sharks, bonito, false albacore

October: stripers/blues, bluefin tuna, sharks, bonito, false albacore

November: bluefin tuna

We fish off of Cape Cod, where I have been fishing since 1975!
