Start your morning offshore with Captain Austin on a focused 5-hour fishing trip out of the Gulf, designed to get you quickly into productive waters up to 15 miles from shore. With an early 7:00 a.m. departure, you’ll be on the water as the day comes alive, giving you first shot at actively feeding fish before boat traffic and midday pressure settle in.

This trip blends trolling and bottom fishing to cover multiple layers of the water column and maximize your chances at a mixed bag of hard-fighting Gulf species. While trolling, you’ll work nearshore edges and bait-rich corridors where king mackerel and Spanish mackerel patrol aggressively. These fast-moving predators are known for explosive strikes and drag-screaming runs, often hitting bait just below the surface or crashing through the spread in quick bursts of action.

When it is time to switch gears, you’ll drop down over structure and reefs where black sea bass stack tightly and feed actively around hard bottom. These fish keep rods bending and provide steady action while you wait for bigger opportunities to develop. Depending on conditions, you may also target cobia cruising near the surface or holding around structure, offering powerful fights and memorable encounters when they appear.

All gear is included, but we also recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing, and any gear of your own you want to use on the trip.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

This trip is managed by an outfitter. Austin will be your point of contact and you will go out with one of their guides.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 14 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 14 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

Additional costs may include leases, marina or slip fees, and the expenses involved in providing and maintaining the necessary gear for your trip.
