About Your Trip

Hunting Iguanas in South Florida is rapidly becoming a new exciting adventure for all!

Over the years guiding hunts I have Invested and perfected my gear and setup. I use quality 25cal pellet rifles and scopes, my boat is a 17.5’ Lowe equipped with four captain chairs and a bimini top to keep the hot sun off of you as we hunt down the canals.

I am a very personable guide and enjoy showing my clients a great time on their trip. I can adapt to any clients experience level from hunters that hunt all over the world to beginners that are just starting out. I can also accommodate large groups that will consist of multiple boats.

I grew up fishing in South Florida, and my passion for the water motivated me to work in the marine industry where I was able to get my Captain’s License. I purchased my boat from a friend and he introduced me to fishing tournaments. I started guiding part-time with him and learned to guide in many locations in South Florida. Little by little I upgraded the boat from bow to stern, wireless trolling motor, new dashes, a chart plotter, new 250 Yamaha SHO in 2020, twin blade power poles, new foam floor deck, custom redone seats, and boat wrap. My boat does not look its age with all the added custom work I have done.

While working at the boat yard I became friends with one of the boat captains that had a nonprofit organization called Freedom Fighter Outdoors. I dedicated my boat to the organization and was organizing bass tournaments for them and taking veterans out once or twice a month fishing.

Unfortunately, the pandemic hit and made a big impact on the organization that haven’t been able to recover. To this day I continue to support the organization and have hopes of it getting back on its feet.

Since I purchased my boat I have been in a few bass clubs fishing club tournaments every month. At that time, as a new tournament angler, I had a lot to learn and not so many people wanted to give advice. So I learned a lot from only a few friends and my own experiences. The more time I put into it the better I got and eventually had a few wins overall, big fish, and top five. To this day I continue to fish tournaments and work hard at bettering myself every time.

With the experience I had guiding, I took a lot of enjoyment in teaching people how to fish and showing them new techniques I’ve learned. I also learned from clients who fish in other states. After a while, I decided to go into guiding full-time and pursue my dream career.

When you book a trip with me expect to be welcomed on my boat and to be treated as a friend I’ve known forever. You will embark on a nice smooth boat ride and fully guided fishing trip from baiting hooks, removing your catch, and handing out bottles of water or drinks. You will also be educated on the wildlife and waterways we have here in South Florida.

I started part time 8 years ago, things slowed down after the pandemic. Came across an opportunity to guide full time this past January 12 2024.

What makes you different from other guides?

I like to be personable with my clients, I want them to feel welcomed on my boat, I enjoy making them happy and seeing them catch fish in ways they haven’t before.

You're all set! You don't need to buy a license for this trip.

We use a cashless autopay system. We'll send you a boarding pass, and on the day of the trip, your guide will scan your boarding pass to automatically transfer the remaining balance. The only cash needed is to tip your guide (we recommend 20%).

Cancel for free up to 2 days before the trip and receive credit back to your account. Cancelling within 2 of the trip will forfeit your deposit to the guide. Day-of cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full balance of the trip to their card.

In the event of inclement weather you'll be covered by out 100% Weather Guarantee and will not lose your deposit.

BEST trip! Amazing captain that guided us on the best time of day based on weather. Also went above and beyond bringing us to best location for iguanas based on water levels. We found a lot of iguanas, and the captain helped us with learning how to best hunt-as it’s not as easy as it looks! So much fun! Book captain Jose!

Tough month, January and had a big cold front run through.

Did that prevent Jose from putting us onto fish? No. Not at all, we were catching fish all day. He was patient and organized as well as friendly and instructive.
